My New Protege 5 Wagon

Welcome to the forum. I have to forewarn you. Buying a MP5 is bad for you're health.

First problem, you're neck will be killing you soon (from all the double and triple takes as you leave your b e a utiful baby in the parking lot); second problem, you're eyes while start feeling strained (from the repeated checks on you're car from the house to make sure you're baby is still there); third problem, you're hands will ache (from clenching onto the steeringwheel as you toss it into tight a$$ turns enjoying how it handles like its on rails).

These are only a handful of the documented medical ailments resulting from MP5 ownership. I hope you have good medical insurance!

and here I thought I was alone .....

I seriously do all that ... and occasionally catch myself just sighing and grinning at her..... I have issues ..

the dealer cleaned my rotors. It looks great. They ****** up with an oil change, so they detailed it for me, as well as fix other damage they did....But yeah what a difference not having the rust and brake dust on there.

well since my rims and tires were stolen every time i pass the window i literally check outside to make sure my car isnt sitting on jacks anymore.

but as for hwy9, ill be there probably next year sometime, and i should probably get some more suspension parts for the serious corners :-) but i must say my new 215s really make a difference over the 195s, i love them!

Sorry to hear about your tires and rims. I am nearly having phantom window checks. My car is in the shop becuase Im a dumb a$$ and I have to suppress the urge check out the window to see if its there and the last three weeks were just a bad dream!

I am sitting here lookin at that nice new engine bay... The way you have the 'lude hooked up I say you dont keep it looking stock very long! lol... 2 badass cars though... Pro 5 and the lude.. do you have the vtec controller and any other mods on the prelude?

I had a lot of parts on the Lude before, but I was going to sell it for the 330CI. One day I raced a 330CI and smoked the guy, so I decided not to get the car anymore since it's not as fast, and it cost about $45,000.
So I started parting it out, piece by piece. I decided to part and sell it so that I can get the G35, but my gf said she wanted the car, so I was left with some goodies on the Lude.
A while ago, I slapped on a F-Max prototype turbo, but it kept seting the ATTS (My Prelude is an SH, not the base - "Best handling car under $30,000" and blah blah) sensors, so ATTS kept shutting off on me when I boosted high. Also, the turbo heats up real quick, so it made a little heat warp on the CF hood, so bye bye CF hood.
Now that there's a P5 in the family, she doesn't need the Lude anymore, so I was going to part it out again, but I can't find a buyer anymore.

The Lude right now has just body kit, wheels, JDM fogs, AEM intake and pulleys, strut bars, anti-sway bars, HIDs and some other little stuff.

This car has gone through so much with me..

I still plan to get a G35 this Christmas though, but registration and insurance will be so high for that car, for I have a pretty bad driving record..

pshaw34, sorry if you took offense. Sports Shift, automatic Preludes.. I call them sissy stick .. SS.. get it? Besides, I wasn't sure exactly what to call this on a Protege5.. BMW have their version and they call it SMG, LOL. So many ways of calling the automatic nowadays..

The Highway 9 meet sounds like a great drive - one day I'll have to break out of the Berkeley gravity well and make it down there.

It's correct that I don't have ABS - that was one of the few options we wanted, but we couldn't find an available car with 5 sp and ABS in the right color without a lot of other options we didn't want. And we were pressed for time - bought the car, then 10 days later our son was born. I think ABS is a great safety feature that should have been standard. But it's something that should usually only come into play in extreme situations - I like to have fund curving around the Bay Area hills, but stay within the limits where I don't have to brake too hard. If we had ABS, I probably would push a bit harder.

One way I save some neck strain: instead of constantly looking to see if the P5 is still there, I push the remote lock button twice to hear it beep...

Hey guys, I was told that the P5 has a factory LSD.. but now I'm looking at the site and can't find it..... Did I get played?

:( Then I guess that brings up the question - why does it handle so well...? I started to get the feeling that the P5 handles as well as my Lude, but that can't be right..

Does anyone want to see pics of my Lude? I want to post it on off-topic but don't know if I'll get flamed for driving a Prelude. Most of you seem very friendly, but ehh - I don't like to get flamed on the boards. :)
