'90 Mazda Miata Turbo
Hi everyone, my name is Russell and I became a mazda driver 3 days ago. It's my first venture in a Japanese car, but I'm loving every second of it. I traded a friend of a friend down in Melbourne, my Old 5 series for his Miata. He got a new project, and I got one incredible car. She's a '90 with 144,xxx miles. Built suspension, greddy turbo kit, and some other goodies. A real BLAST to drive. I don't know a lot about these cars, so I'll probabley have a ton of n00b questions, but I promise, I catch on quick. Any regular meets down here in Central Florida? And, without any further adieu, here's some pics for you:

(These are from previous owner, I'll do a photoshoot soon enough, and get some better shots)

nice..

*but very important* reroute the oil return line from the turbo. the way it is now, will not allow the oil to drain properly and can toast the turbo.

Sweet. Welcome to the club. My first real mod is going to be one of those air dams. I read you can get them for like 60 bucks from Mazda Motorspots if you can prove you autocross.

Those wheels look like Konig Rewinds... like mine. :)

Also, am I the only one having a hard time getting my intake to fit properly? It feels like I had to jam that damn thing in there and my coupler from the U to the turbo is a little kinked.

Lucky you had every thing set up for you. Not like me where i'm currently spending blood, sweat, and cash no mine. You got your self a sweet ride on your hands. keep us posted if you mod any thing your self

what side of town are you on?

North. Longwood... off 434 just east of I4. Hope you're planning on going to the huge mazda meet over in tampa on the 22nd of July...

oh I am, will you be meeting us at best buy in the morning?...

and yes, I plan on continuing this project, and I'm accepting ideas daily, which, of course will be posted about.

Yup. I'll see ya there :D

no, the oil return line has not been fixed, but I also haven't been driving this car too much....it's one of the top things, if not THE top thing on my list.

the wheels are konig rewinds.

both wheels look great, and I'm a sucker for wheels with lips. Rota's are lighter, but I'm very leary of ebay purchasing, I've been burned, and wouldn't wish that upon anyone else. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

also, this has been bugging me, please don't think I went out and said, I want a miata turbo, but don't want any of the work done myself, because I'm a lazy cuss with a fat wallet. I am neither. I had a BMW 540i/6 that all my blood/sweat/tears/and cash went into, and it got to be too much on the cash side of things. I was sent out to talk to the previous owner of this car, to get some ideas on miatas, since he had a "nicely modded" example. We spent the day talking about my situation and looking at all the factors and he offered the trade. I got a cheaper to maintain, better on gas, still TONS of fun car for the price of my baby, which was putting me further into the negative in the bank. So, while no, my blood sweat and tears did not go into this EXACT car, it did lead up to the acquisition of this car. I'm not sure if that's what you were going for with your post, but I figured I should let you know a little more about the situation, because I will NOT be percieved as "that" guy.
