My New Car

I'd love to have your drivetrain (minus DBW) but the appearance of the 06's doesn't do anything for me... And I think it would be better as a hatchback...

Please read my definition of you... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asshole

k thx

...and then tell me how you could possibly feel it carving corners for you on dry pavement. Unless you were spinning the wheels (such as driving on gravel or snow, launching from a stand-still, or taking sharp corners at full speed on an autox course) the LSD will show no affect on daily driving.

I have never had a problem driving on the roads of NH, VT, ME, and NY without an LSD. I find it hard to believe it would be a necessity on the hills of LA and OH.

It would be nice to have one going up those steep NH mountain roads in the middle of a blizzard but for dry pavement and every day driving I don't see a point and I don't see how you could feel it unless you were in-fact driving to the limits of the car and spinning tires.

But whatever, nice car, I'm sure you'll have fun in it.

Get ready for other honda guys to tell you your car sucks because it uses Macphersons and not double-wishbone....it gets old.....:p

The Tach looks ricerish. The all around look is growing on me, but I would love this car. Good choice, I want one now.

ahh, the old civic si...reminds me of me old civic si...although it was a '99...handled like crap, but was faster than my P-5.

GREAT CHOICE!!!

As for the handling, I saw vids of STOCK 06 Si and they seems to understeer a lot. Not terminal like the previous EP's but boring understeer anyway. I don't think you can adjust the attitude of the tail with throttle inputs like you could do in a STOCK Mazdaspeed Proteg (wich have less power and OEM LSD).

BTW, the Speed Pro is still the King of the hill for STOCK FWD handling. But boy the FS is not a marvel of engineering compared to your K20Z.

Again, excellent choice!

That's just the give-and-take between the two cars. With a little suspension work, i think the new SI will shine.

EP's handle really well for the tires they come with stock. Michelen Pilots are crap. The car feels tighter and seems to rotate a little easier than my P5 did. I guess the right word would be "Yaw." The P5 has wonderful turn-in response and bites hard, the EP3 has this nice center rotation feel to it. I'd love to compare both with equal tires. Mazdas have that wonderful Mazda feel of turn-in that feels like the car squats and attacks a turn.

I made a post comparing the 2006 Si with the 2005 EP3 Si. In road and track they handle almost identical in measureable performance when the EP3 is equipped with the honda factory performance parts (just some springs/struts). I guess it's all in the feel.

i like the new si in blue but the only thing im not crazy about are the stock rims. whoever designed those needs to go back to the drawing board. for some reasons the just dont look cool
anybody else feel me on this..?
i dont know maybe it just me

Its kinda easy to get around, but still bugs me. When I am driving slowly, it makes the ride kinda jerky, as the revs drop quickly, from the hanging point, down to the new gear's RPM rapidly. But you can get around it by either slowly releasing the clutch or just shifting slower. It doesn't effect when you are floorin' it though, still smooth as butter!! I hope your wife's is the same way too (easy to adjust to)

You just explained my wifes Tibby :) exactly the same thing.......you have to get it just right everytime (which never happens) , or just shift slower or it'll kinda jerk. When at WOT though.......shifts nice and smooth like you say (thumb)

Love the pics........I'd like the wife to trade-in for the Si, but we got one hell of a deal on the Tiburon.

congrats, thats a nice ride. I'm not to crazy about the backend, or the interior (specifically the dash thing, and the shape of the steering wheel), but overall i like it alot, and would really like to try driving one to compare it to the MSP.
