damn dude. i know you really love this car but you will regret it. trust me. i payed WAY too much for my mp3. i didn't do the research before buying well enough. dont trust kbb. the car is too new to get a good judgement by it. when i got my mazdaspeed i flew from houston to detroit and drove back. the money i spent flying and driving plus the car was still $2,000 CHEAPER than any mazdaspeed in the houston area. Just go to your bank or credit union. They'll loan upto 16K for the mazdaspeeds. so you can find one for 14K and use the rest of the money getting it and getting an exhaust and whatever else you want. think about this. we're just trying to save yourself some money. so many people bought these cars NEW for around 18k.
naw don't worry... im tryin to get it for cheaper... i printed out those deals online that are cheaper... ima say, can u match this price??? if not well i'll jus say...nevermind i don't want the car... and if they reconsider, then i win lol... i hope so...

also, i did check out those threads bout ppl's mistakes... thats some really helpful s***... boy i read that whole thing... i hope i don't make a mistake like those posted...

No, I went 130 MPH. Get It...
seriously... u went 130mph and that happened??? holy ****... i better make sure that don't happen to me... but i'm under warranty for 3 months... so if it happens, it better happen during the warranty....

how many miles did your car have when that happened??? it could have jus been that it was worn already and u pushed it tooo far when it was under that condition...

Yeah, Um, No.

The car had internals, the rods on Your MSP engine are no stronger than the regular Protege without a turbo. The engine is identical except they bolted a turbo to it and changed some supporting mods to make it so it would last a bit longer. It's your car so do what you want with it. Just to let you know that for the last three years, everyone who said.." The MPS can handle 10 Psi or The MSP can do this or The MSP can do that" Blah Blah Blah... BS... They have all BLOWN MOTORS.

Drive it hard if you like, but I would never drive faster than 4500 RPM for any length of time. Short Bursts like a drag strip perhaps... Highway... Just do the limit and be happy, it's a slow car, but it's faster than a civic...

yea i c... my dad said to shift it into 5th gear when i was in 4th gear so i could minimize the stress in the engine... ima take real good car of my car... i already know alot of the basic things to do... like, don't walk the clutch, put it in nuetral and let it go from there... s*** like that... and i usually shift at around 4500-5000 rpm depending on wat i'm doing... if i'm takin it easy, well its 4500... if im tryin to show off or race, then mostly likely 5000+...lol... j/k i won't race it unless i'm on a drag strip... i only did it today to see how powerful it was from the dealership, and man it was powerful lol....

Congrats if you buy it. Msp's are awsome cars to just sit back and enjoy to drive. If you don't get a smile on your face everytime you enter a corner, next time go faster...

btw- your production number is/will be 1192.

yea... i wish i was in the hundreds lol... but i'm glad i'm part of the 2000... o and trust me, i test drove it and it was awesome around the corners... all grip baby, no spinning...

Yeah I was very upset when I found mine out also...mine is 606.

I should have gotten 505zooms....119 is my tech number and for some reason 19 is my lucky number...oh well.

wats everybody's production number??? who ever has NO.1...they better not sell that car lol...

thats some crappy gas miliage if you shift that high. i try to shift at 2500/3000 all the time unless someone is screwin with me. then i shift at whatever it takes (not past red line) to pull on them. but thats rare. 2500/3000 for me.

yea, the redline is only for emergency's lol... but i try to keep my engine with the least amount of stress as possible... to avoid damage... and i try to keep my foot off the clutch as much as i can... cuz sometimes i accidently like ride the clutch a bit and i don't even notice till i have to use it...then i say, **** i rode the damn clutch... but i'm tryin to get over that...its prolly cuz i'm heavy footed or something...

i bought my 03.5 NEW off the lot with 4 miles on it... not 4k but 4. bought it for 16,500 clean
i'm sure i'll get mines for cheaper... ima try to do watever it takes to get a grand or two off... i really want this car, i love the way it handles and s***... its one of a kind... i only know 1 person with a mazdaspeed and he's selling it cuz he's goin off to college...he wants over 20k cuz he modded the s*** outta it... i wanted mine stock "which mines is cept for the intake" but later i want to mod it little by little...

any tips for tryin to make the dealership give me less??? ima show them those prices to see if they can price match cuz i'll say "well nevermind i'll go over there and buy that car...its only an hour away"... so that must help... anything else i can use???

print this thread, also, go on autotrader and print a couple of them out that are selling for less with comparable miles. even try kielly bluie book...

then there's always the arguement that the previous owner had it modded so there's no telling how he drove it or if it was raced (play stupid we all know that intake isn't a hardcore mod but the dealership doesn't have to know that you know that.)
