the 505 intake mani? i want one...but can't justify spending the money after all this crap...maybe one day...sigh.
 
installed on saturday: steed speed mani, mpnick turbo, rear motor mount (thank you, doug) and CS downpipe...all that's left is the sls j/mid-pipe.

i would like to thank mazda_pro5_2nr, dkswim and babyface for the help...i REALLY couldn't have accomplished as much as i did today without you guys. THANK YOU!!!!

i need to torque down the exhaust mani...i've got to find something that will fit the nuts on the arp studs...connect the oil feed line on top of the turbo...and, of course, install the j/mid-pipe. hopefully she'll be up and running tomorrow.
 
got her running...drove it to work today...i'm having a strange boost issue...it'll boost up to 5psi and then slowly go down to 3psi...vac leak? the car drives WAAAAY different...it doesn't pull like it did...i mean, it's faster, but it's smoother? feels like it's just a fast n/a car...

the motor mounts vibrate like hell, as expected...but almost worse than expected...i can BARELY hear my BOV...i have to listen very closely to hear it...but i was told it's very loud outside of the car...so, i plan to get a joep mbc and set it to 8psi or so and let her run...after that, i'll need to dyno it...just for s**** n giggles...i'm not expecting much, i just want to know what i have.
 
what do you mean slowly? is it RPM dependant? does it spike to 5psi or hold for a little bit? how are your AFR's?

i noticed when i was goin crazy rich my EGT's would drop and so would my boost.

what hose are you running on the turbo inlet?

what exhaust are you running?

i would address this issue before upping the boost.

yeah, it looks like it is rpm dependent...i've noticed if i get on it, it'll boost to 5psi and trail off back down to 3psi...if i ease into it (normal driving) it'll boost anywhere from 3-5psi (depending on what the rpm's are when i shift)

i haven't installed the wideband...everything is in and wired-up, i just need to get the o2 sensor bung welded in...i'll probably get that done next weekend.

hose for the turbo inlet? i have an injen converted to a sri if that's what you mean

for the exhaust, i have a CS 2.4" s-pipe to a sls 2.5" j/midpipe (catless) to the stock msp cat-back.

i don't plan on upping the boost until it will hold at a steady pressure. i emailed forge and haven't heard anything. i plan on calling them tomorrow and asking them if they know what it could be...i plan on getting this resolved before i put the joep on...i would hate to set it and have the boost spike on me and blow my motor.

even at that low of boost did you notice a big difference with the steedspeed mani? I've read about unstable boost with the forged wga a few times.

I'm not sure if im having boost issues myself either... i dont reach full boost tell 3.5-4k rpms and thats only at 6psi! I'm not sure if thats normal for stock turbo or not.
 
well, between the mani, mpnick turbo, cs spipe and sls j/mid-pipe, i feel a lot quicker than the car ever did stock at 3psi...i can't wait to get the boosting issue resolved (probably with an atp wga), slap on the joep mbc i have ordered and see what she does at 8psi.
 
with such a low boost level, it the spooling (or lack thereof) is rather smooth...you can't even tell the turbo has spooled up...the power feels nice and even across the entire rpm range.

Nice all that at once! Your not having boost issues man your car is going into convulsions due to to many mods at once! lol (wrc)
 
hahahaha...i wish it were that simple. i'm going to try to correct it by replacing the forge wga with an atp.
