Got my first speeding ticket earlier tonight. Was heading down the 605 in So Cal, going to the bowling alley, and got pulled over for doing 80. I personally don't consider going 80 to be speeding, but technically it is over the limit. So two months after picking up my speed3, I get my first speeding ticket ever! Oh well, better get ready for traffic school (bang)

Just space them out to annually, like me, that way you can keep taking defensive driving, and getting them taken off your record. I'm just playing I've been driving quite a bit safer than I used to. But I did get 3 tickets 3 years in a row. Glad I broke that habit.

Sucks. i have done anywehre form 65-120 on the 605 (120 in the scort). never been pulled over on that freeway. Sucks sorry you got one.
if you are ever by the race track be careful. One hideson the entrance in the dark. you dont see him till he can already see you!

Do you have defered out in Cali? We have it in Texas, and it is a totall blessing. You just pay the face value of the ticket, go three months (I'm pretty sure it was three, could be wrong) without getting a ticket in the city you got the ticket it, and not only is it removed from your record, you also get zero points. No driving schools or DD or points or anything.

yea, i dont consider it speeding too, i go 80 all the time, but u just have to be lucky. Get a radar detector ....
....Dude, I got my first ticket in the speed3 about three weeks ago, they gave me a ticket for exceeding the speed limit of 65.

Here you can go every twelve months. I have gone each year since 2000 and before that you could go every twenty four months. I went three times from 93 to 99. I go again in two weeks. Never anything more than speeding under 24 over.
The girl at the DMV asked if I wanted an application to be an instructor.(cabpatch)
welcome to the club... and here's to the many more to come! lol j/k not wishing you more speeding tix, but let's be realistic. At least it was a somewhat "legit" ticket, and not some fully BS speed-trap-tastic POS excuse for a small town police department operating income 28 in a 25 ticket. They sting the worst... even though no ticket is fun. 80 used to be my avg. highway speed here on interstate 4 in Florida... with 90+ passing etc... but now I find myself not exceeding 75 usually. They're getting pretty brash down here, giving out tickets in a *posted* 55 zone when everyone knows if you do 50 on I4 the result is not going to be pretty. All for that markup on your ticket. Ridiculous...

Sad to say that I am not just a subscriber to this thread anymore...83 in a 55 (my first one). Required to go to court, might get a lawyer...I'm screwed.

i've taken defensive driving in june, and whens the next time i can take it again to get my insurance down some more? tough luck man i got a ticket 83 on a 50... psh the dude next to me was going just as fast, oh when i went to court i didnt get a lawer cuz this officer my boss's wife's cool with was suppose to help me out and he told me to say nothing in court the cop that pulled me over is gonna say he dont recall what happend and it was a mistake... but then i got effed over in court, and when i talked to the officer who was suppose to help me he said that cop didnt pick up the phone... so yea license suspended 2 months 800 dollar fine, 200 for the ticket and 600 for the state
