After only seeing MS3's in passing and when I was at the stealership getting stuff for my P5, I noticed a red MS3 on campus a few days ago. Quite a nice looking ride.
Today on my way to lunch, I see the same red MS3 coming on campus so being the car junkie I am I whip around and follow it back to campus as I'm curious to get the owners impressions.
The guy who owns it is a really cool guy (a car & bike enthusiast to boot). He's directing a movie and says that the MS3 had the look he wanted for a vehicle in the movie.
He asks me if I'd like to take a ride. I was stoked to finally get to feel what the hype was all about. He had a cobb intake on the MS3 and took us through some twisties and man I gotta say: I'M IMPRESSED!
A 23K car has no business pulling as hard as the MS3 does, uphill no less.
He's a former Boxster S owner and while he says the MS3 doesn't feel quite as fast or handle near as well as the S did (which is understandable due to RWD and lighter weight), he said for the money, it couldn't be beat.
He also told me that Subaru has agreed to be a sponsor for the movie and will be supplying two Sti's for filming and he's looking forward to comparing the Sti vs the MS3. There might also be a 360 modena in the film which he said I'd be welcome to come check out.
Needless to say, it was the best lunch break I'd had in some time. Shooting the breeze with a fellow car enthusiast while ripping through some great twisties.
I told him about the forums and he gave me a poster for the movie as well as a link to the site.
The movie site is:

I can see why Subaru would sponsor the flick. Seems right up their brand image alley.
All in all, I got out of the MS3 very impressed and somewhat depressed that my P5 would feel pinto slow after riding in that beast.
The fastest car I've ever ridden in was a last gen Corvette Z06 followed by a tuned Sti and a 350z.
While the MS3 didn't take my breath away like the vette did, it felt at least as fast as the Z, maybe even faster.
What a rush. You MS3 owners are a lucky bunch.
