haha well I know what you were trying to say anyway. May I suggest also buying an upgraded motor mount, short shifter, and shifter bushings. Those relatively cheap mods make the car drive like it should have come from the factory. I'm not too sure how important the boost tubes are but they are only $90 so it couldnt hurt.

hahaha so apparently you cant say certain things on the forum... i didnt know that lol im still somewhat new to this :(
why is it like a curse word? lol

I would much rather go for:

TRZ Poly Motor Mount ~$90 @ protegegarage.com
Cobb SRI ~$175 @ dabears2k.com
RKM SSQV BOV ~$165 @ dabears2k.com
Cobb Rear Sway Bar ~$168 @ dabears2k.com

Total: ~$600 and much better bang 4 buck!

You don't need boost tubes on your stock tmic....

Might I also suggest some Valvoline 10w30 Synpower oil and new filter ?

In all honesty, I would hold out a bit longer and drive your car stock for a little bit of time. I've had mine for 5 weeks now and I've had to fight so hard to not buy any mods (except for the shifter bushings). But I'm just waiting for the ODO to hit 1,000 where this will be the EXACT order in which I will install mods...

1) M1 Full Synth @ 1,000
2) TWM STS @ 1,000
3) Cobb SRI @ 1,000
4) Cobb Rear Sway @ 1,000
5) CP-e Rear MM @ 1,000
6) Forge BPV @ 1,000

and I honestly think I'll be done for a while after all of that. Maybe a DP/RP in the future but probably not seeing as how expensive the catted versions are (CA and emissions :()

yeah i know im at about 800 now.. im going to wait til i go back to school cause my friend knows a lot more about cars then me..even tho these are easy mods
i just gotta save up the money, and talk to my dealership first
hopefully they wont be assholes

and im 100% new to turbos i came from a V8

Welcome...I would suggest a intake,Motor mount and TWM shifter bushings for a start.A cobb intake would be best but they are on backorder untill sometime in august.A new BPV would be nice also if you have the extra money but not a must and a boost gauge.OR you could just get a Motor mount, shifter bushings and cobbs AP and that would be good for awhile.Oh a test pipe is nice to have since they dont cost that much and add some hp/Tq and are easy to install.

thanks, i think im going to stay away from any exhaust work for a while ive already been pulled over 2x with the stock exhaust!

Pulled over for stock exhaust... Thats just crazyness, were they just fishing for reasons to look at a sweet car?

this place appears to have the Cobb SRI in stock... i thought everybody around here was saying that there was a huge backorder everywhere on their intakes?

Most places don't have it listed as "In Stock" or "Out of Stock", I wouldn't trust it but if anyone has any news on this it would be nice to hear.. If they're in stock I'll be ordering one immediately

got this reply from customer service:

We are on backorder as well. About 2 weeks out.

Cheap upgrades that I've done so far are:

Cobb Intake $180
Forge BPV $160
Cork Sport Rear Motor Mount inserts $45

Total $385 includes shipping.

The Forge BPV is the best value and with the Cobb intake, again the best value, you will here a loud whsssssssh. You don't need a vent to atmosphere BOV. The CS MM inserts will help control motor rock and will not increase vibes in the cabin.

My next mods will be:

Test Pipe.
Shifter bushings.
Cobb rear sway bar.

does the BPV recirc?
like i said before im 100% new to turbos so i dont really know all that much

then what would be the difference between the forge bpv and the turbo smart dual port bov?

then what would be the difference between the forge bpv and the turbo smart dual port bov?

this was just covered...
http://www.mzspd3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123715207

essentially:

bpv = bypass valve, recirculates excess boost back into the intake
bov = blow-off valve, vents excess boost directly to the atmosphere (VTA)

EDIT:

just noticed you were talking about a specific BOV. don't really know anything about dual port BOVs, but i would assume that one port recircs air to the intake while the other vents it. seems overcomplicated to me... bpv is fine for this car, unless you really want the loud boost release sound that a BOV gives off.

alright thank you.. so the bpv only recirc's..but it does or does not make a sound?

dual port is a hybrid. it recircs as well as vents to the atmosphere. or at least thats what I've been thinking this entire time. some air will get sent back to your intake mani and some will be vented to air. which I guess would reduce the chances of running lean while giving you a much louder effect compared to 100% recirc.

with the cobb sri my stock bpv is pretty damn loud... I like the price and the stock look of the forge but its a bit too loud for me, I'm trying to decide on a different one.
