My First Dyno - Boost Fail - HD Video

Car was not getting proper boost. 5th Gear pulls. My current mods are CPe Nano Intake, Forge BPV, and Hypertech tuner. The Car was also hot, first pull was 174 AWHP. Something isn't right...my boost goes to 16-17 PSI for about 500 RPM until 4,000....where it drops to 13 PSI and at 5,000 it drops to 12 PSI.

Car has CPe Nano, Forge BPV, Hypertech Tune
TIP, FMIC, Meth injection, TBE + supporting drivetrain mods VERY soon.

Dyno was done at Swift Motorsports in CT...I'm down for a dyno day BTW.

210 AWHP 255 AWTQ
Will scan chart in the morning.

New here and doing some research on some things I have notice with my new Speed6. I came across this thread and was hoping to find out if it was ever figured out on what was causing the power drop. No one seemed to mention the graphs that he posted. Which surprised me because I see a couple things that would stand out to me.

1. why does his AFR dive below 10.9;1 by 3500rpm and damn near bottom out at 10:1 by 4500... You can't spool a turbo with raw fuel... Notice his PSI peaks quickly when the AFR were not rich.... That is where I would start, possibly an over boost function that the ECU dumbs fuel to keep the motor safe? What was the IAT's? I assume you had nothing blowing on to the TMIC causing IAT's to increase. Or the lean AFR and Quick peak in PSI made for high EGT's making the computer richen up the fuel to cool things down, but High EGT's would also Increase the IAT's making the fan blowing on the TMIC even more needed.....

Just somethings that I wanted to point out to maybe spark up a good educated discussion on what would cause his low power results.

I know car's but not the speed6 so I am in the learning as I go which is usually easy when you know the physics that go into making a motor efficient.

Thoughts?

in all seriousness the car was dyno'd in the wrong gear, but the other problem is the software.. Hypertech just doesn't seem to produce the numbers that other devices do with this platform. To date i have not seen them push over 300HP on the MZR.

The gear you dyno in wont effect the Air fuel ratio's or the boost level's dropping, so are you saying the hypertech tune is the reason the AR is tanking? The hypertech doesn't disable the over boost sensor on these cars so even if you were trying to trick the waste gate the computer will still switch to the **** ME fuel table and start dumping fuel to keep the motor safe. Which may explain why your first pull tank'd the slowest, every pull after that the computer was already aware of the over boost.

Thats one thought it also could be hypertech running rich so they aren't stuck with blowing motors but I dont see them tuning for that pig rich it kills power.

This is what I mean... The computer has ways to get around increased boost. So I am not blaming this on Hypertech just looks like he needs something to trick the over boost. But I doubt he has a AR gauge to keep an eye on and even if he did would it help, Rich is bad but lean is worse so it takes some knowledge and data logging while increasing boost gradually each pull. Going balls out on the dyno with a new setup = melted pistons.
