my first car show. HELP!

bringing an old thread back......

I also have a few questions about my first show.

Im going to be at nopi this year and im not really entering my car, im more the less just paying the fees so i can drive my car inside and park with some people...but i still want a clean car.So my questions are im going to be driving down from nashville and im staying at a hotel about 20 mins from the show. My plan is just to wake up early and clean car at car wash down the street...most inside will be done before i leave nashville. So should i just wash and wax it at the car wash and then drive it into the show and do the tires, etc...because of it slingiing on the car while driving to show? just looking for some info, since ill be driving about 300 miles to show and then after i wash it ill have to drive another 20 miles.

any help is appreciated

well for one, a lot of places wont let you do tires etc indoors because it creates nasty slippery wet spots around your car.

what i would do is wash/wax...drive, wash again. then use meguirs quick detail spray on the whole car.

I second the Stoner Glass stuff. Top notch!

A while back I did the Lowrider show in Miami and was indoors. I had the whole display thing going, models of my truck, trophies, photo album of mods, mirrors, mulch (yikes, i really did that). Kids stole several models, so watch out for those grubby hands.

They had the same rules about gas and stuff, but you'll be fine. The tire gel is a great idea and I would also recommend the black carpet. It's so cheap these days that even if you left it behind it wouldn't be a big deal.

They are certainly right about cleaning inside the wheel wells, under the body (why I had mirrors), on the backside of your wheels, all sides of the doors (including underside) and jambs. They often like the underside of an intake or other hoses.

Good luck with the show.
