Hey all,
Thought i would make a quasi build thread for everything I've done to my 2013 cx5 sport AWD so far.
Bought in 1/13 One of the last 2013 sport cx5s in the state.
A few days after I bought it.
First thing I did was rally mud flaps. There is a guy in my area who owns a rally mud flap company and is always looking for new cars to use as fitment. I offered to let him use my cx5 and I got free flaps out of it.
After that it was time to do my wheels. I'm on a budget and I like the look of the 17s so I just got them powder coated. I wanted something unique so I went with a flat bronze.
I got sick of having silver emblems so I set of to blacking them out. I used plastidip and did them still on the car. (didn't want to deal with the hastle of taking them off and not putting them back on correctly)
I like the sound of the stock stereo, and I actually really like the touch screen but decided I needed a little more bass. So I picked up a decent used amp and subwoofer. This is a before picture, I hadn't actually installed them yet. I ended up putting the amp underneath inside of the doughnut.
I got slightly tired of the glossy black bit on the front end and decided to carbon fiber it out. Used 3m 1080 flat carbon fiber. I didn't take anything off did it with it on.
I had some left over CF wrap so I put it on the back, right underneath the emblem to see how it looked, and if I didn't like it I would take it off. Ended up liking it and left it on.
All in all I haven't done too much other than make it my car. I don't like fitting in with the crowd and am glad I was able to make the car look the way I want it!
To do:
1. Foglights from dealer
2. LEDs put in headlight
3. Intake
4. Exhaust
Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.
Thanks!
