My CP-E Turbo Back has been shipped!!!

My CP-E Turbo Back has been installed!!!

Finally my 3" turbo back has been shipped as of yesterday afternoon. With all my mods and this put together I think I will have the fastest and most modded MS3 on this forum...hehe Someone needs to give me a cookie as soon as possible. Make it chocolate...lmao Damn, im wondering what a tranny AWR mount is? Can't seem to find anything of that sort. I read in on this other thread. Wonder if it is worth it...???

Have you done any dynos yet or plan to after installing the tubo back?

That sounds nice,I wish I had the money now for all that.I hear the real gains are in replacing the midpipe thing just after the 1st CAT and s*** canning the 2nd CAT..I read that you will get no CEL if the 2nd CAT is missing. So Im guessing its just a 3" pipe from the 1st CAT right to the cat-back system.

Congrats on the turbo back. I know I'm jealous. Would love to hear some sound clips when you get it installed.

However, enjoy that cookie knowledge007. When I receive my CPE CAI, 3.25" polished intercooler upgrade, Turbo Smart Dual Port BOV, Rear Motor Mount, TWM shifter bushings, and catless midpipe, I should have the fastest and most modded MS3 on this forum. Mmmmmmm...Cookies.(hump)

I am waiting on the CPE EMS before I upgrade to the turbo back for fear of hitting fuel cut with the other mods installed. There is still substantial power increases with just a free flowing catless midpipe as the stock catback is capable of handling much more power. Also going to upgrade with fully adjustable coilovers, rotors and pads (when available), and OZ Ultraleggera wheels in matte graphite.

Keep up if you can!!! (drive2) j/k

I was going to try a dyno run before I install and after installation. But I don't know of any dyno's here in Miami. The closest one I know of is in Broward. So with that being said, I think I'm just going to wait for the installation and then see where I am at.

No. From what I understand, and believe me I have asked a thousand times Josh must want to kill me by now, it will have one high flow cat. I am replacing the whole system with their turbo back system from the mani back.

Depending the droning, if there is any then we already have with the stock exhaust, I will purchase the resonator. But I have a feeling that I will love this system.

Hehe, will see my friend.

What do you mean fuel cut. Is their anything I should be worried about or are you just talking about the system with NO CAT?

Also, I very curious about a short shifter. What gains will that give me and do you think I really need it???

PLEEEEASE post a review of the system once it's installed! A lot of people are anxious for a third-party, unbiased review of the sound and quality of the system. We'd be so grateful if the first person to install the turbo back shared his thoughts with everyone on the boards!

And for whatever it's worth, you don't have to worry about any fuel cut, and since you opted for the catted downpipe, you don't need to worry about any check engine lights. You can just install the system and enjoy the newfound power and sound without any adverse effects :D

With just the turbo back and CAI, he will be fine. I was talking about when you have those two and add the top mount upgrade. I was told by someone very knowledgable who also sells, and praises CPE products that if I were to put all three on my car, the stock ECU MIGHT not be able to handle it and I could POSSIBLY hit fuel cut. I am just going to play it safe with the CAI, TMIC, and catless midpipe for now.

In no way was I trying to bash or scare people away from your product. I have the CPE CAI on order and will order the CPE turbo back when your EMS is released (hopefully soon). I was just pointing out the limitations of the stock ECU in my case since I will have the TMIC. Please correct me if I am wrong, you guys are the experts on this car. Call ME if you need advice on the H-60 helicopter. GO NAVY!! Hehe.

I love your products and hope to see many more very soon. Thank you for all the hard work and top notch engineering you guys put into your products.

You are the best CP-E hands down in my book. I just noticed that it was the cat back system that was shipped. Should I be expecting the DP Monday to be shipped?

And of course I will post vids and sound clips as soon as the whole system is installed

Again, please thank Josh for me and everybody else at CP-E for their professionalism and expertise for their products.

Ah, no worries! You're absolutely right that if you mod your car enough you will hit a fuel cut without proper tuning. I just wanted to make it clear to 007 that the addition of a turbo back exhaust will not trigger a fuel cut in his case. We've found the ECU will cut fuel if you exceed a certain boost level or if your fuel trims are too far out of range.

And the next time my T700-GE-401 turboshaft breaks down you'll be hearing from me! :p

(headbang)

You'd better believe that I'll pass your praises on to Josh and company! The shop has been an absolute madhouse lately and everyone is stressed out, so I'm sure a little positive feedback will help cheer everyone up :D

I actually came back to this thread to let you know that it was just the catback that was shipped, but I see you already found this out. We finished your catback so we shipped it. But the downpipe still needs a flex pipe and a cat welded in, so we're going to finish that tomorrow. Anthony said as a worst case your downpipe will ship out on Tuesday.

By the way, are you installing this system or are you getting a shop to do it?

I have a Mazda mechanic shop that will be doing the install. Unfortunately I do not the necessary tools to perform the install myself.

Why? Is their anything you would like to address that the mech should know before the install?

Nope, actually the opposite :D

Since it sounds like you'll be the first non-cp-e member to install (or have installed) our exhaust system I was going to ask you to keep a pen and paper handy while you work. That way if you run into something that isn't clear enough in our instructions you could jot the info down and post it here for future installers, and we would also amend our instructions.

The catback installation should be a cakewalk, but the downpipe will require some more work (luckily not for you!). My only suggestion, which I think you should pass on to your mechanic, is NOT to force the top oxygen sensor out of the threaded bung in the stock downpipe. This information is bolded in our instructions, but if your mechanic knows what he's doing he may not have to rely on our instructions and may miss that blurb about the oxygen sensor.

The proper way to remove the sensor is to soak it in penetrating oil and let it sit for a few minutes. Start to loosen the sensor until there is resistance. Once you encounter resistance, DO NOT force it. Instead, work the sensor back and forth (tightening and loosening it) until it gets past that 'sticky' part of the threads. Neglecting to do so could destroy the O2 sensor threads, and those things aren't cheap.

Like I said, we bolded that section in the instructions, but it might not hurt just to point it out to him before he starts so he doesn't miss it. Otherwise, everything should be very straightforward.

Jordan

Yes, I had asked him about this issue before b/c I knew this would be quite a challenge. He said he would apply exactly what you have stated. But I will mention to him the instructions as to work the o2 sensor out by loosening and tightening the sensor. Does this also apply for the second o2 or is this easier to extract? He also has stated that he will not work on the car hot. He will let the car sit until the car cools down. So with that being said it should take almost a day to install.

As to your request, yes I will do just that. I will take any notes necessary and post them. But for the most part I think everything should be fine.

Thanks again Jordan,

Can't wait to get the whole system in and installed.

Funny, I sure will...

Jordan,

I has asked in the MS6 thread about smoking and turbo seals. Does this conclusion apply to our turbo as well. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Or do you think I should wait and see if their is a recall for the turbo seals???
