I got an invitation to auto x for free this weekend. I dunno I've only got about 450 miles on my car, I just got it a week ago. Should I do it? I wanted to wait until I got a set of 16" rotas with some good tires for auto x, but I dunno. What do you guys think? Maybe I'll just go watch...

Yeah, you're almost done with the break-in recommended by Mazda (600 miles)...just drive a lot the next few days and have fun this weekend! The auto-x season is basically over, so if you don't take this opportunity, you won't be able to run until March.

Go out and beat it!!! have fun....it's still under warrenty.
-I only had 132miles when I brought mine to the drag strip.

yeah but they will be able to tell if you were beating the s*** out of your car and they might not fix it under warranty.

Auto-x isn't really all that hard on your car, except for the tires. To have your warranty voided, they have to PROVE that the car was misused....which is hard. Also, a dealer CANNOT void your warranty, only MAZDA USA can do so.

yeah but he may not know how to drive his car that well it is pretty new he may **** it up some how just looking out for his car.

do you love your baby??? if so wait.......but then again i bagged the s*** out of my car when i first got it

Auto-X is the best way to learn how to drive your own car :D I can't wait for next season.

i honestly always break in for 1000 miles before beating my car up this way you know its broken in right.

Ive heard breaking in right means driving it hard after its warm in the first few miles of its life

its not recommended by the dealer but it was suggested by someone who works on motors for race teams for a living

well then go out and drive all day long, get to know the car really well in all types of areas, you get a couple hundred more on there before you know it, its only tuesday!!

then go to the autocross in your newly familiarized car and tear them a new one. Everyone wins!

maybe he meant race engines.

nah he made a page describing how to do it for regular passenger cars

Someone did it on their car here and posted the link...

Well I talked to the guy who invited me, and we both agreed that I should hold off. I can wait until march, and I really wanted to get a second set of wheels and tires to run on for auto x anyways. I've auto x my civic in the past, and it's alot of fun, but I think I'll get more accustomed to my new car before I go all out. Hell I really haven't gone to the limit with it yet, so I don't think that I should try it. I will go with my friend though, and he's gonna be running his WRX. He offered me to take a round in it with him, and I say if the track master allows it, then why the hell not. I got my helmet ready!!

Hey Kylenls you got the DG hood? How is the fit and finish? What color is your car, and how does it look? Got pics? I know it's probably a miata, judging from your sig, but I'd definitely like to know DG's quality...
