I noticed this when I was test driving an yellow 2003.5 at the RevItUp tour in Irvine. I would floor it to accelerate and at around 3800RPM the engine would die in power then resume from 4200RPM again. I have a lot of experience with turbo cars and it felt like either the blow off valve is opening too early or something with the fuel delivery dies for a second. I highly doubt it's the turbo because I have a Garrett T25 in my eclipse and have never felt anything like it.....ever in any car. I also noticed the idle was a bit low after i drove it. After I got out of the car I told the lady there I think their test car is broken because the power drops out for about a second mid-way through the rev band. It would also make this weird whistle sound when it dropped out, leading me to beleive it was the blow off valve opening up a bit after hitting full boost. Has anyone upgraded their blow off valve yet and still have the problem?
