for your new antenna i would just drill 2 small holes and put some set screws in there. that way it wont just unscrew. that plus locktight and it would be a b**** to get it off!!!!

Drill through the base? What's the material of the base..plastic? Set screws won't do s*** then. How long is the antenna threaded area?

Yeah, but there's a limit you want to "theft-proof" something. I mean if that bastard REALLY wants to steal something, there's no way of stopping it. Like for this antenna for example, if you make it too hard to steal it and they still REALLY want it, they can snap off the whole base and take the whole damn thing home.

So instead of just buying and replacing the screw-on part, you now have a base that's broken and that would cost you even more to replace.

Not saying we should make it easy for those bastards as well

The problem is that the daveB pretty much has the words "Steal Me" written all over it. I mean if someone would steal the factory antenna, why wouldn't they steal your nice looking daveB?

simple....because DaveB have the antenna engraved with "PROTEGE5" on it... and we, protege5 owners are honest...are we Snacks McGee? NEVER STOLE from another P5 owner!!

Ha...never! Well...mayber for a split second...but that was about it. I promise. I'm going to buy someone's antenna from this board. I'll definitely get that locktite s*** because it seems as if shorty antennas are get stolen more than stock ones.
