my accident

I did not take it out, but when the hit happend I didnt see smoke, and Its not cracked or anything.... Just the radiator was all ****** up.

I'd would say that's a "total loss" if you had collision coverage. I happen to be a casualty adjuster and could almost guarantee a total loss adjuster would be calling to talk to you about a settlement after they figured out the current market value of your car. You'd be able to keep the settlement amount plus the car, but the car title would now be a "salvage" title.

I work in Northern California and it would be your fault. The only way around it would be to have a witness who saw the person in front of you slam on their brakes causing you to rearend their vehicle and have that witness be willing to give a statement regarding the events of the accident.

Otherwise, give yourself a little safety zone between your car and the car in front of you. It's pretty hard to do here on Hwy 99 because some fool always wants to squeeze into your safety zone to gain 15 or 20 more feet of pavement.

Hey, live and learn. I rearended someone myself some years ago. Would probably still have my 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S model too!

Well if the estimated costs of repairs is close to 80% of the total value of the vehicle, then it will most likely be totalled.

Also, estimated damage is is calculated from a visual inspection. If you had collision coverage and the car were actually tore down, I would bet more hidden damage would be discovered.

Anyways...wish you well on your repairs.

I wanna try cutting off the old radiator support myself, I have the tools, I dont know where to cut yet though......

looks similiar to mine but yours is a bit worse. Cost of mine ended up being like 5900 bucks, thankfully insurance covered it, I got a gemini composites reverse cowel hood for a 450 dollar out of pocket expense, but its much sexier than the OEM hoodie, and I was gonna get a c\f one anyway, so I saved a few hundred bucks in the process. speaking of which I get my car back next week. YAY

Yours is definately more severe. My headlights didnt get touched really, but there was some nasty scratches, I took a hammer and pryed the lense off alittle so that I got new ones too....didnt want a whole new front end with scummy looking lights. Good luck with it, hope you and ur car a speedy recovery and hopefully insurance doesnt jack you around

id say its fixable, new fenders, hood(evo hood), bumper(replace with current style), radiotor support, radiator, condensor , headlights(procarparts presmoked lights), clear corners. just to name the major parts.

Basically exactly what is being replaced on mine....reverse cowl hood from GC though. Also I just looked at the little report the body shop gave me, half of it was labor for repairing it, the parts themselves were not too expensive. The headlight housings hood and fenders were the $$ items. 2800 in parts...
