In the latest issue of Import Tuner Magazine (Summer Issue) www.importtuner.com in the powerpages section they talk about some bolt ons that are available that provide gains of 28.6 HP and 16.9 TQ. The bolt ons included the Jackson Racing Cat, K&N Intake, Greddy Exhaust, and Racing Beat Header.

They pulled baseline Dynos and had a HP of 76.8 and a TQ level of 77.0

After installing the Jackson Racing cat HP rose 13.1 (89.9 overall) and torque rose 4.7 (81.7 overall)

The K&N intake provided 3.8 extra HP and 2.4 more torque

Greddy Exhaust gave 7.5 more HP and 7.1 more in torque

Racing Beat Header provided 4.2 more HP and 2.7 more in torque

All combined mods increased HP to 105.4 for a total increase of 28.6 HP and 93.9 in torque for a total increase of 16.9 in torque. Check out the website for full details and dyno sheets.

Just thought this information might be useful to you guys.

Wow. A baseline of 76.8 WHP? That's really low. Typical Maitas range from 90-100 WHP stock. That car must have had some sort of obstruction somewhere.

yeah... my car, all busted as hell when I bought it, made more than that.

I think that this line is the ticket:
fter installing the Jackson Racing cat HP rose 13.1 (89.9 overall) and torque rose 4.7 (81.7 overall)

No cat, unless it was providing some SERIOUS restriction (ie, much more than it should have been) will provide those kind of gains. I be that was the problem. Add 13 to the 76 and you're looking at somewhat reasonable numbers for a stock car.

idk it was one of the writers cars i think and they used it to test these products. just thought you guys would be interested. if you start out 100 though maybe you will have bigger gains since nothing is wrong with your cars

yeah you are right, i didnt see that part of the article, lol

no copy and paste i summarized the thing while reading it on my couch. sorry

ding ding ding ding

looks like we left out a little detail in the copy and paste ;). There's your problem.

Clogged cat was the first thing I thought when I saw the gains for the cat. Just a tiny bit out of line with the Hollis cat testing.
