you guys are the lucky ones i wish i could get on of your mazda speed proteges. My parents had a ford falcon xr6 turbo they are alot of fun but have some serious reliablity problems mind you when it was running you really new about it but you wouldnt expect anyless from an inline 4.0 liter dual vct turbo charged six with 240 kw and 450nm of torque. stock it would get to a 100kms (62 miles) in 5.8 seconds and cover the quater in high 13s. I would love to trade with you guys.
you get me an xr6t, i'll trade you straight up :)

not my cup of tea! looks a little to much like a Mustang. (I think that it is the hood and the front lights that gives it this apperance.

it's def. a real car, not a ps. it really doesn't look like a mustang in person, it's a fairly large 4 door car. they are awesome cars though. the regular version, not the fpv, xr6 or xr8 version, looks a lot like a taurus. the utes are pretty sweet too.

btw, this thread was originally posted in 2k2 :p

for had to create a really speacial car because the model before it was a complete disarster. I dont understand why you americans dont have them over there because you guys would probaly buy them. This model was a step foward for ford australia and they spent half a billion dollor AUS in developing this car which to you americans is nothing. Holden started to export their utes and monaro coupes over there maybe ford mite do the same and twelve months down the track you mite have xr6 turbos and ford gt's. The one quality ford which we missed out on in the F150 Lightning they would have been alot of fun and the boys down under would have loved a big american muscle ute.

More proof that the Aussies get all the cool cars. Their Ford products rock and their GM products, unlike here, don't SUCK!

both countries get some pretty cool cars

but you guys have access to cars which we will never see and with the increasing laws in australia there are less and less japanese imports being brought into aus and any japanesse models in aus are really detunned and we often miss out on the goodies that the rest of the world get. The falcons are pretty cool from my perspective id prefer the mazdaspeed protege because they are wild and id love to see what my car would have been like if australia got the hotsuff like your MAZDA SPEED products. One thing i would love to import would be the sport 20 from the limited reading i have done on them they sound really cool. I might actually be able to bring one to aus one day but sadly i cant do the same with your mazdaspeed proteges as they are left hand drive. If enough of you americans asked ford america for the ba falcon im pretty sure they mite look into it, im not familiar with your domestic car market but i would be my understanding that every contry needs an affordable high performance car that can be used by a growing family.

I read in Car and Driver that the big Fords (Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis) would be phased out in favor of Falcon based cars. Bring it on :D
