Must have accessories help...

Hey Guys,

I decided to forego with the dealership tint job ($499). Any advice on which accessories should I get? I am thinking of replacing the tint job for:

1. All weather floor mats ($85)
2. Soft cargo liner ($63)
3. Ipod adapter ($175)
4. ???
5. ???

Btw, prices is in Canadian dollars.

Expected delivery: July 5, 2008.

If its a 2008 don't waist your money on the IPOD adapter...with labor it comes to almost 400 bux. Bug deflector and Rear Step Plate a must.

I have to agree with zoom5zoom. Bug deflector and rear step plate were the first things I got. You would not belive how easy it is to scratch the top of the rear bumper! I also got the all weather floor mats. I like them. They are nothing special but not bad for the price.

Rear bumper cover is an absolute must have for anybody that puts anything in the back! The all weather floor mats keep the factory ones looking good during the summer, salt and black carpet do not go together! I hope you will find tint outside of the dealership, it makes the 5 a much more livable vehicle in the summertime.

My dealer wanted to charge me the same price, maybe it's the same dealer. But I went to get the tint done somewhere else for $185 taxes in. If you're in Toronto, I can recommend you the tint place.

I just paid right around $200 to tint my 5. And the wife already scratched up the back bumper, so that step plate is really a good thing to get.
Uh, anybody know if they can put the plate over scratches?

Yup the rear plate can cover the scratches. It was a cinch to install, takes less than 10 minutes ( I am uber cautious...could have taken 1/2 that). I bought the rear step plate, cargo cover, rear mat, all weather mat and auto-dimming rear view mirror with homelink. I installed them all..the mirror was a small challenge....the rest were easy.

- Bumper step is a must! Plus it looks pretty decent
-All Weather Mats are great. Just make sure you get the carpeted mates too. The All weathers are an add-on, NOT a replacement
-If it is a Canadian GS (Or American Sport) without the side sill extensions then the mud guards are a must as well
-The cargo liner is nice, but a twin sized sheet/mattress pad fits decently and is a bit cheaper (though not fashion first!)

- Zoom Zoom Sticker is nice if not already installed (not a necessity though)

Thanks for the input guys...

Anyway my dealer told me that my GT is already sent to the vendor for tinting, they gave me the all-weather mat as a compensation instead. Though I still think its not enough to compensate for the premium I paid for the tint job. Anyway, I'll post some picture once I get it during the weekend.

Well, I am a OEM *****.

I bought, Rain guard , rear bumper guard, all weather floor mat, sunroof guard, hood protector, and cargo linear.

I love the OEM cargo linear, it fit like a glove.

Do you have a rear bumper guard? Join a local Mazda group and have a guy tint it for you cheap. We have a dude in our group that is charging $150.

The tint is a must. I used one of those 'tint films' at the Canadian store and did the tinting myself. Not a professional quality workmanship, but it's been 2 yrs now and the tint has held up so far.

Does anyone have a picture of the cargo liner that I can see? I have a beige interior, and I think this should be usefull for me if the cargo liner comes in black.

Yeap, the cargo cover liner does comes with black. I had it installed last week and it is perfectly fit in my black leather. It is almost look stock, now I don't have to worry about scatching my leather seat.

I'm assuming this is in an 08, right? there's no AUX on my 06. (Dangit!)
