Hi, i'm planning to get a mazda cx7 in the coming summer and i was wondering if anyone has put a "multimedia computer" in their cx7 yet? You know, with wifi, bluetooth, dvd, mp3, fm...etc... I kinda know how to approach this, but was wondering if anyone had done it already...

I have put a PC in my center cosole designed for 12 volt use. It works through a Nav interface. The interface and mobile pc came from www.avelectronic.com If you go to their gallery page there is a pic of my dash showing the DVD opening screen. I will post pics of the PC tonight.

thank you... i think imma go with a shuttle pc with a touchscreen monitor, but Imma get my big bro to do it for me... lol

I think it LOOKS hot... but it concerns me that the sound is through an FM Modulator. Is there another way to handle the sound?

AVELECTRONIC is working on a plug in module. They have one for the other mazda products but like the Ipod adapter it didn't work on the CX-7. I will keep everyone posted when I hear what is going on with the new adapter.

Great setup (2thumbs)

Only one question,
can't you equip the PC with the DVD drive?

So then you would not be needing that separate dvd player in glovebox?

You would need a laptop dvd player to fit in the PC that I used. Because of where it is installed I didn't want to increase the heat already there from the PC. I also like using the external DVD so I can shut off the PC once in a while to give it a break.

So I understand that basically it's possible to use the computer for DVD-s. (yes)
