Multi Information Display issues...

Hi,

I know this is my first post here, I just became the owner of my 1st Mazda!

The 2010 Mazda 3 GT, after having the car almost 4 days I've run into something odd and I'm hoping maybe one of you could help me?

There are two displays in the upper dash area.. The first is the MID this does the GPS and displays various info including the audio status (Like what CD is playing or what band you are on. The second display is the information display. This is the amber colored smaller display that shows audio information as well as the climate control details.

After lunch today I turned the car on to discover the temperature on the first display MID was showing farenheit. Meanwhile the climate control temps showed in celcius.

Now keep in mind I hadn't changed any settings since I purchased this car. I called Mazda and some dealerships and no one...could offer any advice on how to change this display back to farenheit.

In the meantime at Mazdas request I did a restore default setting on the MID screen and now have no audio readout information on that screen.

Can anyone offer any advice on how to fix one or both of these issues?

This is my first Mazda, and my first car to have so many options...but the manual and Mazda haven't been able to help out...

I really appreicate you taking the time to read and offer suggestions.

Thanks!

I don't have GPS, but I assume it's about the same. There is a setting for units of measurement KMs vs MILES , F vs Celsius. Just hit the info button on your steering wheel until you get to the Screen that says:

Perferences
Reset Units
Maintenance.

Go into perferences and there is a change units.

Not sure if you are commenting on the CD information, but if you don't see any information about the song there, that is because the disc/songs aren't tagged properly.

Thanks for writing Wing...

Actually the settings on the MID....like temperature and KM vs. Miles only (at least in my case) effect the MID screen. I have tried switching the temp on there and it only changes it on there, not on the second display.

As far as the CD info goes. I know exactly what you mean by tagged properly, the problem is it doesn't matter what CD/Radio station I have on. The display actually reads "Audio OFF". Even while I'm listening to the radio??

I wanted the gadgets since I've never had any car with so many options...but now...not so sure.

IC, unfortunately it sounds defective. Take it back and make them come good for it. Sorry this is happening to your BTW

Well I appreciate your help on this one....get this I wake up start the car this morning and am greeted with the climate controls now in farenheit???

So I start up the CD player and guess what I've all the sudden got a readout and display on the same CD that didn't register yesterday.

So basically I'm back to normal, the ONLY thing I can think of is that it takes some time to reload when I reset it to the factory defaults.

Either way this leaves me a little freaked out. BUT at least I'm back to normal.

FYI Mazda CS still hasn't been able to figure it out...go figure.

Thanks again for your input Wing... I may run it in, just for a tech to take a look when I get the chance. It doesn't help that my dealer is about 50 miles out.

Yeah if it is back to normal they will probably just say "Yeah there isn't a whole lot we can do..."

Glad it's working again. If it does it again take some pics of the error.

I think your right, they had an air of disbelief in thier voices when I just called to explain the issue yesterday.

I WISH I had taken some pics...man that is good idea. If nothing else but to prove I'm not crazy...lol
