muffler

ok i just dropped on a 3inch turboback w/a catless downpipe..i have an apexi N1 muffler and its alittle too loud for me..what do u guys recommend for a quieter muffler?

i'm assuming you want quieter, not less quieter since you said "its alittle too loud for me.." you could try the apex exhaust accessories. they have a variable silencer that will get louder as you lean on the throttle more. they also have a butterfly that is mounted inline with your exhaust. you can adjust the valve so that you have a quite or loud exhaust. if not, then add resonator.

check to see if they have a silenser that fits in the mufflers tip. If not hit up ebay, just measure the tip. those silencers work pretty good. I had that on my gt-s before.

ya i was thinkin about the silencer but the tip on this one is alittle big for me too..didnt realize how big it was till it was on. so i was lookin at like magnaflow or greddy mufflers

spintech is supposed to be a good high flow muffler with low noise. I plan to get one eventually, whenever I get my catback. I don't know any proteges that have one yet though.

i got the same muffler and my car is pretty quiet, its loud cause you have 3" exhaust, no cat and dp, go to the muffler shop and get a resonator put in, i forget the length i have, i think its 24 or 26", but it will quiet it down alot, a silencer is not going to do it as good as a resonator, plus i hate the sound of silencers ends up sounding like a ricey honda lol, anywa resonators dont hurt performance either if you didnt know, just my 2cents.

ya i think i wanna swap mufflers because also i dont like the size of the tip.. id like to go down a size or 2 w/.the tip size

I have read that several users used their stock mufflers with the corksport ehxausts. Most saying it was too loud with the corksport muffler, and after (with the stock muffler) said it sounded very good.

This is probably what Im going to do.

i mite swap w/ neversober.. hes got a 2.5 bosal muffler..mite trade strait up.. what about a magnaflow or HKS muffler.. how do they sound?

you'll maybe lose 3 hp. nothing serious. depends on where you go. i'm not sure how much a 3" magnaflow resonator is....maybe $80??

you could try modernperformance.com they have resonators for around $50 I believe

resonator doesnt hurt performance the slightest bit, just muffles the sound
