MTX re-q and Bose HU

i can't speak regarding 08.5+, but 07 and 08...if you have a re-q, do yourself a favor and turn off the bass enhancement. there is a switch on the req that says "before amp, after amp, off"

evidently, the signal (high level of course, hence the re-q or LOC) is very flat and healthy coming from the Bose HU. i love the re-q even here because of the SSF and add'l gain controls and LPX-over, but after extensive tuning using the enhancement switch will overdrive the low portions of the signal. you can get ALOT more without it, because w/o it you can run closer to nominal amp gain.

i'm sorry, but what exactly are you talking about, whats a re-q?

it is a thing to give your stock head unit preamp outputs...it's more than a cheapo line out converter, it's ideal because it restores lost low end response that many stock head units suffer from. they roll off the low frequencies from the factory to bail out the stock drivers.

this thing restores the low end, and gives you a subwoofer output with low pass crossover and subsonic filter, so you can add a subwoofer with only tapping signals for front left and front right.
