Purchased my msp 2 weeks ago and I love it. My last car was a rsx type s with all bolt ons plus hondata 4. Totaled the car three weeks ago and decided its time to play with something else.
I must say the msp has the potential of being a really fast car.
This is my first aspirated car and the torque at low rpms is outstanding compared to acura. Anyway I'm a newbie here transferring from clubrsx and just wanted to say whats up to the msp forum. Happy holidays

Welcome. Happy Holidays to you as well. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Welcome...stock for stock, the MSP and the RSX-S have equal performance in the 1/4 mile.

It's cheaper to bump up the performance of a turbo car...slap on a $45 boost controller @ 9psi and gain ~15-20WHP.

It's a shame there's no 'Mazdata' available for the Proteges...the Hondata is kickass.

Happy Holidays!

I love Honda quality. If they were the same price; I probably would have gone with the Honda (Acura). But; when I bought my MSP, the RSX-S was $4,000+ more.

Hey! You! A 1.8T GTI was messing with me on the freeway! Anyways, How far are your cars with a Chip in it? What's it do? Raise the boost and.. ??

My last car was also a Honda, a 99 Integra GS-R with cai,h,e,ITR cams, cam gears, VAFC, FW, LSD and more. I had to have a 4 door so I also chose the Mazdaspeed, specially because I paid only $16k for it. The Mazdaspeed stock could not compare to the GSR, but it has lot os potential. I also like the low end torque, but miss the 8100 rpm redline and the VTEC scream, but I am more than happy with my new car. For some reason I do not trust the Mazda reliabilty so I have been taking it easy on the mods because I want to keep my warranty. That's one thing I never worried about with the GSR and after 40k miles of abuse, lot of mods and track time, I never had t take to the dealer for any warranty work. Like someone else already said, it is a lot easier to get more power from an already turboed car, just increase the boost and that's it. Many member are running 9-10 psi and loving it, but remember that will void your entire powertrain warranty. Other mods like intake and exhaust will giave nice gains. Is your car flashed?

Welcome.... Hope you take care of the MSP. it's a special edition car. Sorry about the RSX, it is a fast car

Welcome welcome, What color did you get?

My brother has an RXS-S and it seems real real close off the line.

Sorry to hear about your RSX-S.. I love those cars, definately quick. Give the MSP's a run for the money stock for stock, but i did beat one. :D

Glad to have you on board. Turbo tuning is fun, even more so than vtec, and once youre addicted to boost, its worse than heroin!

If you have a question, feel free to ask, but also spend some time searching the archives. Theres alot of GREAT info there!

Let me say this the rsx s is not all that. MSP comes with alot more fun features and for the money (msp). Acura performance is high rpms, but bolt ons cost a crap load of doe and then what. You get smoked by some turbo'ed four door for thousands less. Luxury wise I had the katskins installed in my msp. The acura had leather so I got black leather with yellow stich. Kickass feels like I'm pimpin all over again. Also installed the apexi turbo timer and gauges on order. Still havent decided on boost controller yet. This problem issue that some of you msp owners are having kind of scares me, but will see. As for the dealers I was removed one time from acura dealership because I flipped out because they did not fill the washer fluid after oil change and they said that it was my responsibility. So I got a little stupid with them. Hopefully mazda will be flexible because they were alot friendlier than acura. Ok well I've already chatted with clubrsx and got ragged for the msp. See those bitches on the track soon got to get some goodies.

An MBC is an MBC for the most part. Most on here use Joe P. Turbo XS also makes a goodone, as well as Hallman. EBC's are a step above, but cost 5x-10x as much. But supposedly lest boost spike, and finer control.
What kinda problems are scaring you?
Most of it isnt at all serious. Ive had my car 5 months(today), and havent had a single issue that required taking it to the dealer.
My car is NOT flashed, and has only minor clunk. Im gonna paint over the rust on the rotors in the spring. I also dont leak coolant.
And some dealers are better than others about warranty. But it all comes down to the fact that if you take it in for a problem, and have mods, they might hassle you some.
Enjoy the Boost.

Like 03MSPRO, my last car was a high-revving Honda...97 ITR w some bolt-ons. The only thing I miss is the 8600 redline, but I forget about the ITR as soon as the turbo spools:D

^ i feel u man.
car before Orange and Titanium MSP's was 2000 Si.
had bunch of stuff done to it, still.......turkey won me over very fast
