MSP Vs MSM

how many of you guys actually feel comfortable in a miata... its a friggin go-kart. its so small that it looks silly on the road... after closing the door my left arm is pointing straight forward and im only 5'11. id rather shoot myself in the foot then drive that car around... uncomfy and a deathtrap

well i'm 5'7" so i fit quite nicely in my miata. it's not uncomfortable unless you're too tall. the only thing that looks silly on the road is someone that's 6'2" in a miata w/ his knees next to the steering wheel. or driving around in MINI...now that's silly.

The miata is a blast to drive... my DD is a '91 and has been for 3 years. My wife drove it for 6 months also, and used it to shop for the 15 person assisted living home she managed as well. She's 5'11" and it was her favorite car she's had. So... you can get groceries, be 5'11", buy a crapload of groceries, and drive a miata as a daily driver. Course you can't hardly move and the top has to stay up while you've got those groceries stuffed in... ;-)

Yeah I'm a fan of the miata! Although my 1.6 L engine is a bit of a paltry power producer... hmmm, maybe it's time for a MSM...

If it handles so well on a set of 17" wheels, I wonder how it would handle with a set of 15" Kosei K1s on it?

I have had my 10AE Miata since it was new. I traded in my Corvette for the Miata and have not regretted it. It has gone on long trips, short trips and the odd autocross. It has never had any real issues other than with the stereo's speakers. It has been fun, reliable and economical.

The Miata is not that uncomfortable on a long trip. It is great fun to drive on a winding two-lane road with the top down. As for safety, the Miata has an excellent safety record both for avoiding accidents and occupant protection.

If you wish to know which is faster stock, in both autocrossing and road racing the Miata is in a faster class than the Protg. Even the MSP is in a slower autocross class but I admit that I dont know about road racing.

It's a car also made for little people. I for one could not even think of buying one simply because I'm too big. It's not made for guys that are 224 pound bodybuilders that are as wide as a door. We had a Auto Show in Memphis a while back and I had the opportunity to sit in one. Let me just tell u it was a really tight fit for me. When I closed the driver side door my left shoulder was basically touching the door deff not comfortable but a nice car though. Like someone had previously said I prefer the 4 doors also

BTW - here is a pic of the MSM intercooler... it seems ridiculously small too, but at least it's in the center

edit- the other pic was huge

I feel right at home in a miata. And to say the miata is a deathtrap is IMO a bit of a stretch of the truth. Actually all my miata friends who have ever wrecked their miatas lived (this includes head-ons, side impacts, AND rollovers, like my husband did).

You just think they look silly because you hate the fact that the NB miata's lines resemble your fd's. :p

any release date?

christy.

trying to convince my roomie to get one.
Supposed to be a slightly limited production, from what I've heard...but it's supposed to be done yearly (as in not *just* this year). At least that's what I caught from the CnD review.

damn all you got to do is buy a after market IC and cut the pipes and BOOM you got a nice FMIC and your all ready to up the boost! Damn we got screwed with the MSP!

MSP (fight) MSM

One would think that those stats appear to be ass backwards! (boom06) But, the MSM wins hands down in acceleration. (pow) And our MSP's outhandle the MAD MIATA by a significant amount! (wedge)
