MSP vs. HEMI

I raced my friends new dodge ram quad cab hemi powered truck from about a 5-10 mph roll we were neck to neck and stoped at about 70mph. pretty fast for a big ass truck. He has a flow master muffler stage 2 thats all.

I was expecting to smoke him or anything but just thout that I would win. the hemi seems pretty fast for a truck. I think that the truck weighs 5200 lbs.

1) THIS THREAD DOES NOT GO IN THE MSP SECTION!!! WHY CANT MSP OWNERS UNDERSTAND THERE IS JUST MORE THAN ONE SECTION!!?!?!?!? There is a racing/motorsports section for this thread...why is this so hard for people to handle? and then people flame non-msp owners for frequenting "your" section...if the post was in the proper section, we would be frequenting "your" section.

2) the hemi boasts 245hp at 4k rpm...i suggest you take it to the track to find yourself losing and quit racing pointless races on the streets where youre gonna get yourself killed.

Yeah.. that is about right.

What kinda is intersting to me is the new SRT 7 or 8 (one of the two). It's the V-8 Monster station wagon that Dodge is coming out w/.

That thing is tyyyyyte :D I will get one when I have kids one day

ps - im sorry for the rant, but as a moderator, i find it strangely annoying to attempt to sort through posts that belong no where near the section they are posted into on a consistent basis...if you attempted to clean an entire section of these types of threads, you can see how after the 30th post it gets a bit annoying...again, please take no offense i had somewhat of a bad long day and am venting, but on a serious note, you need to start posting in the proper forum :) thank you

i think that it does go in the MSP section it is directly related to MSP s***!!!!!!

quit bitching and grow up!!

alot of you on this board sound like my 4 and 5 year old kids constantly complaining..

I thought my post would be informative to MSP owners would like to know how there car would compete with another vehicle on the road.

Oh and I am sure you never race you car, rrrriiiiiiiiiiiggggght.

razor ,

I used to think you were a cool veteran like myself but now know we are nothing alike.

Aaron, like I said, dont take offense to it. Simply put, threads need to be put in the proper forum to avoid clutter and help newbs searching on the forum. This is what I tell my guys in the P5 section:

Sorry to be a pain in the ass mod, but we are trying to clean up all the forums to make it easier to search for items, and less cluttered. In the future, please post in the appropriate forum...example - Intakes, dispite being for the Protege5, belong in the performance section. Buying a carbon fiber hood for your Protege5 belongs in the Appearance section. If you raced someone in your Protege5 it still belongs in the Racing/Motorsports section. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints, feel free to PM me at any time.

Replace the instances of Protege5 in that paragraph with MSP...its the same thing...if you race someone, it goes in the racing motorsport section...if you take pictures of your MSP, it goes in the photo section...if you are selling your msp wheels, it goes in the for sale/gb section...

I would think MSP owners would rather sort through anything/everything about MSPs than pick a specific category and sort through a bunch of s*** about P5s, Miata's etc.

I'm with him. This section *IS* quite large. I'll PM enry with an idea I have.

Thats the thing, is people being selfish. There are many things for the MSP that work on the P5, MP3, etc...and most of the MSP owners seem to think they are above everyone else on this forum...we have no problems in ANY forum except the MSP forum. Do you think thats a coincidence that there is 99% of flame wars originate here and 1% everywhere else?

so what if this section is large. It is large cause people LOVE the MSP what is wrong with that...

Yup...people underestimate these trucks all the time. I have an '03 Quad Cab Turbo Diesel with the 6spd manual and it hauls ass. I ran against a Hemi one night and it was pretty much even the whole way until I started to pull ahead at about 60mph. I've got 305HP and 550lbs torque running 25PSI stock. Last night I was pulling on a 2nd gen RX7 Turbo II. I pull on V8 Mustangs on the highway all the time. Once I get my fueling box, it will add 140whp and 400lb ft.

This section is not too large in my opinion. In fact I wish there were more posts. You're asking people to narrow down their post and giving them two options. Either pick racing (which this was about) or MSP (which this thread was also about). I would choose MSP for the reason I stated above. If you want people to narrow down further perhaps you should create sublevels below MSP such as racing/appearance etc, although I don't like this idea either. And as far as parts in common, I would say most of the parts people are looking for on this site (exhaust, fmic, cai) are MSP specific.

I'm actually going to propose something like that. It worked wonders when I implemented it at my last job with our intranet technical support board. I think a similar layout would work wonders here.

Ok, this is getting off topic from this thread, if you want to continue this, pm me. The point is, youre wrong...im sorry to sound blunt, but its true. Here is the problem...

Say i post a good question about an intake in the p5 forum...now lets say i get tons of good advice and price quotes and what not...now, a new member who seems to understand the idea behind the different forums (rolleyes) decides to seach for "cold air intake" in the performance section...he does not get the result because the thread is located IN THE WRONG FORUM!!! so he posts a question that is answered in that thread in the performance section, and then gets flamed by all the experienced members because he asks a question that was already answered...but had the thread been in the right forum, then he would have found the answer, problem solved...so now its a snowball effect...two weeks later another newb searches for the same thing, and gets twenty results that are pure garbage, with people telling him to use the search...so now he posts the SAME question AGAIN, only to get flamed...so yet another post to add to the junk results...

although this particular post is unlikely to fit into that scenario because no one is going to search for a race against a hemi, we need to be diciplined adults, and post consistently in the right forums...if you post about a grounding kit for the msp in the msp section, its very selfish, because it works on the MP3, P5, AND your MSP...so when people search, they find nothing...or if they dont have the new thread option on the right enabled and never visit the msp forum, they wont find out.

the point is, we simply need to be consistent and post in the correct forums for the benefit of all members. only in the MSP forum do people get pissed when their thread is told to move to the proper forum. only in the MSP section do i have problems. i could go on and on about only in the MSP section but i wont. people here need to lighten up and realize that everyone makes mistakes. all i asked was please in the future post in the correct forum.

This is not a bad idea, im not sure why youre against it.

And as far as parts in common, I would say most of the parts people are looking for on this site (exhaust, fmic, cai) are MSP specific.

The only parts you have specific are turbo parts...and guess what? THERE IS A FORCED INDUCTION FORUM!!!
