MSP to MP3 sub?

:
Mazda MP3
Today a friend tried to install the MSP sub to the my MP3? I thought it was going to work b cuz all the wires were there from the mp3 sub so we hooked up the RED and White jacks to the amp then the ground to the amp then the power cord to the amp but when we turned on the the stereo the sub wouldnt work does any body have an idea why that happened. My friend thought it might be the power cord not bieng hooked up to the battery but it looks like it was hooked up to the battery.:wtf:

dont know if it will even work- did you plug in the RCAs?

btw, u tried to hook up the MSP amp AND sub?

the MSP has a small amp+sub
the MP3 has a powered sub

yea I plugged in the RCA to the stereo and to the amp. Yea both of them. I used the wires from the MP3 sub to hook up the stereo.

yea thats exactly what my friend said but stores were closed already. Do u think that the wiring from the mp3 sub to the MSP sub are different or are they the same?

So you have yellow to +, Black to ground and blue to remote?

Also does the amp turn on?

thats a good idea as well. the case says "15" and its under the hood, right by all the other battery wiring.

yea I have the yellow to the postitive, but there is no black but the blue i thought was ground is hooked up to a metal part of the car. So where exactly does the blue wire go hooked up to.

So what do you have for remote?

YOu need a 10 guage wire to +, another to ground, and a very small wire for remote.

The ground on the MP3 was black.

there was no black only a yellow, blue and thhe RCAs. Andn we thought that the blue was the ground so were does the blue go conneceted to.

hmm. . you thouglt blue was ground eh .... .hopefully you didnt' fry your remote wire. . .. .i have never seen a blue ground. . but yea. . .you need a remote wires (usually blue) hooked up to that terminal

amplifiers can't work without 3 wires. Power, ground, remote.

You have remote connected to your ground terminal!!!
This may have very well have nuked your head unit.
YOu need to ground the amps to chassis metal with the same size wire as power and you have to have a wire that goes to the radio tha turn on the amp.
