I have the APC's because someone bashed my stock ones in, and honestly I've come to like 'em. They give the car a modern look, whereas the stock ones look somewhat outdated (they remind me of mid 90s cars). All that said, If I found a good deal on a set of stock tails I'd buy 'em and probably switch between the two. Like Rush, my biggest gripe with the APC's is the clear strip across the bottom. I wish they had some ridges or something in them because you can see the bulb sockets pretty clearly.

I have the red APC's and I want to smoke those with the Rockblocker kit... I think that would be the best look of all of them

i went to the hobby people here in vegas and picked up some of the r/c car spray on window tint and just sprayed it on in layers to my liking and it came out dark and glossy! and you can still see the lights just fine and i think it looks really good, so if you like them blacked out its cheap easy and durable ive washed it several times and it hasnt chipped or anyhting

Or you can bastardize your stock tails like I did lol. I like the all red apc's not bad or keep stock.

I've got the es model tails, which are the clear/white instead of the pinkish color in the middle.

LOL I did the opposite with my tails, I like the slight difference.

I did the Testor's smoked black trick on my MX-6 and it worked well, but I like the idea of tinting them so it's not as permanent. If I don't like I can peel it off and I'm back to normal. I got the tint idea for those tails by seeing a G35 coupe done like that at my trainstation... that's the next thing I do. I may just buy a sheet of tint at like 35% and do it myself. It's been a while since I did any tinting but I'm pretty confident I could work it out and still come in cheaper than the pre-cut sheets...

I definatly agree about the light pattern of the APC's. thats what kept my from getting them when a driveby shopping cart took out my right tail light. I definatly love the way i have them done now and have done another set on a buddies car too. just went to a hobby store and picked up a can of pactra RC car window tint (its made for lexan so it will not crack from heat flex). I found out regular tint will not hold up to the weather after a period of a couple months.

I painted my reverse lights black-mica, there is a thread here somewhere. I would use stock taillights and tint the with the rockblocker overlay imo.

kick ass! definitely works for your color....

I had the same idea of converting mine to an 03.5 (minus the wing) I kick myself now cuz someone recently hit me (going like 1.5 mph) so the front bumper had to be completely replaced... I should've just told the bodyshop guy to give me an 03.5 intead. then all I'd have to do is change the rear and I'd be all set. oh well

Yeah Sandspeeds tails are hot :)

I saw a Black MSP up here yesterday with a partial 03.5 convert. 03.5 front lip plus some RX-8 wheels. Not sure if he is on here though.

id say keep the stock ones and tint them aswell
spicy looks reall good like that

here is mine, i just tinted then slightly so it still looks stock/clean and i think it flows better with the color of my car too. also depending on how you look at them, its either very noticible or not noticible at all (pictures will show)....
