MSP Pricing?

I'm seriously considering a new MSP. I figure with the $2000 rebate, $500 college cash and $500 Dealer cash I can get it for $3000 below invoice. The only problem is that on my P5 I am $3000 upside down. With all the cash, can one buy an MSP for $15, 500 or so?

3,000 below invoice is probably pushing it, the dealer will have to earn a couple bucks there somewhere. Maybe a couple hundred.

I forgot to add- $3000 under rebate is $16,547, so I think you need to check your math- unless I have the invoice price wrong. $15,500 may be a little too ambitious.

The dealer will probably want invoice then you can apply the rebates as they do not affect the dealer.

That's a terrific price, if its accurate. I've not seen anyone near that price. I assume it includes the college rebate?

Something doesn't seem to add up, though. Perhaps that quote is less a downpayment? That's a trick dealers sometimes play in ads.

I just double-checked the invoice price on Edmunds.com and I was off by $100- its $19,447 including freight. So lets say the dealer will give you invoice price. If you can get the $3k off, that's $16,447 if you're a grad, $16,997 if you're not.

There may be a modest amount of holdback or something there where the dealer can make a couple bucks selling at invoice (less rebates and dealer cash), but I don't see them going much below that level- where's the profit?

Maaaaybe on an '03 leftover just to get it off the lot? I'd be curious where the catch was.

This is an 03.5 Sunlight Silver. List $21,000 after rebates and discount I can buy it for $15,986. I just left the dealer. I was pissed too because this is a brand new Mazda dealer in town and he said they would only take $500 off list. I said no thanks and then the Sales manager came up to me and said he would do that price. I left regardless because I did not have my P5 there for them to look at.

I'm guessing around 9500-10,000. I'd like to get 11,000, but then I'd be dreaming.

Per word of mouth the P5s are in a very short supply as used cars and dealers can get decent money for them. Depending on milage you may be able to get $11K

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Hey everyone! I just bought my 2003.5 Mazdaspeed last Friday. I went looking Thursday night.

Here was my deal:

$21,000
+ TAX, TITLE, ETC.
-$2000.00 for Rebate
My 2002.5 Trade-In got $11,000.00.

I am 31 and no college student.

Ended up being upside down $1,500.00 from my P5.

My payments on a 5 year went up about $50.00/month.

I am very satisfied.

Schedule my MSP to be in tomorrow to get the flash, among a few other tiny little details (i.e. engine cleaning, etc.)

i got my msp for 17k flat, which is basically all the discounts and rebate, even thou so i didnt qualify for dealers wanna get rid of them, 17k or less isnt immpossible.....

I'd guess that about $17k is about the best you could do if you're able to get all the rebates and you're not dealing with trade-in shenanigans (ie. undervaluing your trade to make the purchase price appear lower). You miggggght be able to get down to $16.5 at the right spot.
