I think there used to be a bracket you could buy otherwise you will need the MSP or MP3 valve cover.

No the MSP heatshield only fits the turbo manifold. DGM made brackets to fit a MP3/MSP engine cover on a regular FSDE valve cover.

I have the plastic cover on a fsde valve cover and it sits fine just can't bolt it down without the brackets.

There are four screw sticking out of the valve cover so the msp cover would bolt on
