The MSP is rear, but it doesnt hold a candle to the Supra. The Supra is very rear & much more wanted. If you have a chance to get the Supra, please do yourself the favor & get it. I can talk; I have both, a MSP & a Supra. You can keep the MSP as your daily driver & use the supra when the weather is nice, thats what I do. Youll really want to do research on that Supra your buying, make sure its one of the good ones, many are out there that have been boosted very high & not maintenance very well. Give us some more info on the Supra (TT or single, auto or 6 speed, targa). In short, if you have to sell the MSP to get the Supra, DO IT. Youll have yourself a real car (remember Im not trying to put down the MSP, I have one) thats respected, sought after & simply one of the best imports you can fine. TIME LESS. Good luck.

I'm getting more information on it tomorow and will definately have it inspected and grab a carfax on it before i make a move.

I owned a 1988.5 Supra NA and loved it, even though it wasn't a turbo. What it boils down to, is what type of car you can really use right now. If all you need is something to get from point A to B, attract a lot of attention, and have a maximum of one other passenger, then get the Supra. If you're thinking about house, wedding, kids, etc, ;like I am, then keep the MSP. RWD is so much more fun than FWD, too bad I had to sell mine because I would have spent so much money fixing it up.

yea most definately no worrys about kids/marriage/housing seeing as im still in high school (refrain from flaming me because you think im going to wrap the car around a tree. im very responsible when behind the wheel)

One more thing, when you look at the car try to forget its a Supra & look at it as a car that youre going to keep for a while maybe as long as you live. The reason for me saying this is people buy this car & get lost to the fact that its a Supra. Let the seller drive you around, see how he drives it, stand behind the car when he turns it on (your looking for blue smoke/valve seals). If you already know about these things to look for then you should be fine..

yea i definately need the car to last me a while so im going to pay close attention to anything thats suspect. thanks for the tips to. and please share anything else i should look for.

Wow, i dont even think this thread even needs to exist. Im not a big Supra fan...but when compared with a MSP? roffle.

if you dont buy it tell me where it is i'll go get it asap. lol. My uncle has a 94 supra, that thing is crazy

Man when I was in high school I had to choose from a Dodge Aries K car or a Huffy.

Take a drive in it and see if you like it. On paper IMO it would be a tough decision for me, too, because while the Supra has a lot more power I'd prefer the much lighter MSP. On the other hand, if I were to drive it and find that it doesn't drive so heavy, then I might get the Supra. So bottom line, test drive it.

In general, high schooler + [insert high power RWD sports car] = very bad idea.

I'd say to stick with the MSP and enjoy it. It'll still gets you lots of attention and into lots of trouble with much less chance of bad things happening.

I was 26 when I got my '93 RX-7 (sold last year with the addition of my daughter). Even though I was a relatively responsible driver when I was a teenager, I would have killed myself if I had owned it back then. It was just too much temptation to let her rip, and high power RWD cars have little margin for error.

Good luck with whatever you decide, and be careful.

thanks for the advice. i realize how dangerous a car like this can be and that it is a whole lot of power for someone in high school or even lower classmen in college (seeing as i graduate in may :) ) but it really is an amazing opportunity if it works out for me. Anyway ill have more details on the car tomorow probably but now im tired and going to sleep

Yeah, let us know. I'd say go for the Supra if you can handle it and if you forsee having the budget to work on it. If you decide against it, I'm up here in Chattanooga and would love to have the info on it. :D

Insurance is probably a b**** for the Supra, too, btw.

Edit: If you don't want it, can I get the details? One of my good friends is really interested in getting a turboed Supra (his late bro's dream car :().

if i dont grab it a friend of mine is going after it. and yes the insurance will definately be a b**** but it cant be much more than what i pay now. i just hope i can get everything to work out.
