Depending on your job, and your base, you may not get a lot of free time, and you're going to enjoy getting into the MSP the few times you can.
Also, if you're replacing the block, the first mods I would do is forged internals. Some people say do that last, but if I were in your shoes, and had the money now, and I was replacing the motor anyways, I'd build the motor forged first, then add the rest of your bolt ons.
I have basically every bolt on now, and wish I had a forged motor, but can't afford it right now. You can always come up with a couple hundred dollars for a bolt on here and there, but you probably won't always be able to afford a forged motor to handle all those bolt ons though.
