So my buddy has an old Supra, 88 I think and he's always bragging about how great it is. He used to have a turbo engine but had to replace that engine and dropped in a new n/a engine, it only has about 7,000 km on it. Well he's always saying how great his car is and how fast it is, so the other night me, him and 2 other buddies went to the bar and I was the DD. We took his car for the night and I was driving (yupnope) ya this thing was sooooo slow compared to my MSP, he was telling me that he puts down 220 whp. I'm like no way, it was so sluggish, takes forever to accelerate, got on the highway and got it up to 210 km/h and it took me 4 exits to get up to that speed, redlining every gear. I will have to put him in his place sometime soon. Anyway the moral of the story is

I LOVE MY MAZDASPEED!!!!!!!!

the n/a motor doesnt put out 220whp, the turbo does though, maybe he was thinking about that.

Non-turbo Supras aren't fast at all. But it's still a Supra.

the late 80s supra is a freakin boat.....the turbo motor is still a rock like the later jz2 but the chassis is freakin nasty and heavy as stated above.....the n/a model is a joke

my friend has a turbo version of that, either a 89 or a 91
has exhaust, afc tuned, ebc, and a couple more things.
he still can pull me from a dig and his turbo blows oil

ahahah I hate supra freaks.. Whats funny is unless its a newer model turbo modded there really not that fast.. They really dont put down alot of hp but they do have GREAT areodynamics resulting in sweet pickup and speed.
I had a buddy that had a black supra like the pic above 88 I think, anyways he always claimed it was sooooooo fast being turbo. He challenged everyone he knew to race him, however it was pretty fast being modded but it was no super car. He could run a good 13 or so in the 1/4. Anyways at that time I was in the middle of building my old civic which is N/A so this ofcourse really made my friend rub it in that his turbo is so great and there is no way in hell a n/a car like that could beat his.
So one day we lined the two up, his lil black supra 88 or so model and my lil black civic 92 cx. The race was a joke in the end my buddy s*** his pants as my lil ole civic left his ass in the dust from launch to however far we drove down the road. Anyone that knows me knows about my lil civic so I wont go into how unfare it was to my friend to race me but it was fun lol.

Off the topic an old rx-7 will blast away an old supra anyday of the week. When I say old im talking in the 80's.

13's aren't too shabby, depending on mods. A simple BPU will result in a decent increase in psi.

Yeah he was modded, so 13 is nice speed for the supra. However I guess I didnt stress enough how much of a super car he said he drives. He was the type of guy that would sit back and point at a car (doesnt matter what it is) and say oh I got him beat etc just beacuse he had a supra. He also claimed he drove in the 10's. I know thats not right beacuse one he could only pull 13's at drag strip and two my civic can run 11's and I beat him several times.

my friend got a 89 or so supra last year and gutted everything and basically rebuilt it from the ground up. i don't thinhk i can even count how much money he put into it. it runs like high 12s low 13s. but hes not the type of guy that brags about it and is an asshole. but anyway after my speed thats what i wanna do cuz its so much better knowing you built a car yourself that runs that fast.

All-motor civic in the 11's. Wow, you spent some money! I was happy to get 14's in my sohc with boost. (dunno)

yeah the car cost 200 bucks and the engine set me back 6 grand. Bear in mind 11's with drag tires. I also have custom maps for my car.

Ah, mine was a daily driver so I didn't get too crazy with it. 13 inch steelies with crap all season 32$ tires, heheh, still cut 2.3's...good enough.

shh dont tell anyone but mine was daily driver now it just sits sence I got the msp.. it was my little sleeper.. Hell I even went as far as put some beenie babies in the back window to fool people. Bare in mind it was tunned down for daily driveing.

Mine looked stock outside, even the purple faded bubbling window tint. Didn't even have a boost guage inside.

"Hey wanna race?"

-"You got any mods? Pop your hood."

"Sorry, it broke, can't open it. It's just a dx, not even a hatch. Look there's no boost guage or anything. Wanna run?"
