Msp megasquirt engine management

looks like your on top of things once again :)

I got to fix some small stuff as well but that will be after a while, damn school - lol

so, i tried it out and at the beginning it was fuel cutting like a mofo...but i had just reset the ecu so i was expecting that. now, about 50 miles later, it didn't fuel cut once...car felt strong as ****....then about 2 hrs later, it started doing it again...i still beat a vtec honda civic...but i guess i would've done it even with the fuel cut :)

As for engine management I have ran a SS AFC and my advice is NOT to get one they dont work well on our cars. As for AEM FIC it will work, but you are going to have to run a zener diode in between the MAF and the stock ECU or it will cut fuel when it sees over 5v worth of air flow. The AEM FIC is supposedly not made for our cars, but it will work. The zener diode if properly sized will limit the voltage allowed to flow to the ECu. It operates like a check valve. It will flow voltage normal say to like 4v and then will start limiting the flow until it stops and holds at 4.8V. You will have to find and buy the right zener diode, but they are like 3 bucks.

I am currently running the MegaSquirt with the best results.

The MS2 Extra 2.1.0 Incorporate the AFR target function, all you have to do is attach a LC1 or UEGO output to MS2, and set a AFR table, the ECU will automatically adjust for fixed AFR. This made tuning incredibly simple and accurate.

I recently did the Volumetric Efficiency analyze(higher the VE, the better the engine breathes, this is due to camshaft, valve, IM EM etc...) , it gives me the predictable torque curve. All I did was set a fixed duty cycle for injection in boost @ 5psi (12afr), from 2000 to 7000, then watch the wideband changes. As we know our engine produce peak torque around 4500 with a flat torque band from 3000-5500rpm, that means we get the highest VE in that range, so with the fixed injection duty cycle, I get around 12.1-12.3 from 3000-5500rpm the it fall into 11.6 11.7 around 6000 - 7000, <<< the AFR gets rich with fixed duty means less air can be sent into cylinder, which also means our engine running outta breath and the torque curve falls at that rpm range.

didn't you blow your engine with megasquirt?

i did by putting too aggressive timing, while i was using no lift shifting.

I hope you arnt blaming its mesgasquirt's fault if my engine blows... It's all about tune, now im runing somewhere near 300whp with built internal...with great tune.

on MS? or another unit? Can you post some pictures of the install or wiring. Im sure others want to see as well.

Internal pic's of the unit :

This is what I have in my hands but the unit isn't installed yet bc no free time so far.

I soldered this unit myself, you can get it soldered by some dealers.
One of the dealers has come up with new unit but does the same thing , they just rearranged how you build up the unit.
google it and you'll find the main site which includes the dealers as well, I got mine from the dealer in GA, nice ppl.

The wires that you see coming off the main board to the transistors are the modification/extra done to the basic unit.
The whole set up including extra mod's came to 345$ shipped, the one soldered would be about 100$ more depending on the extra mod's you get.

don't have any maps for msp, if you're runnig 12psi and 460cc injectors i have my old tune i can send you from my miata lol (i doubt it would work)

thats bc no one that has it in MSP has helped them out yet with specific specs.

I'm still behind due to no free time.
