MSP Kenwood mp3 question

I need some help from some sound experts on this forum. My mp3 or copied cd's tend to skip while being played after the unit has been running for about 15 minutes. I have cleaned the deck with a disc cleaner and have made sure that the disc is clean and undamaged before playing. I do not have this problem with a studio manufactured cd. Is this a problem with my deck or my recordings?

Could be either. What speed do you burn your CD's at? If the CD-R is only rated for 8x recording, and you burn it at 24x, you may get some random errors, which might be causing the skipping.

Try playing your MP3 disc in a different radio. If it also skips, it's your recording. If it doesn't, it's your radio.

The software couldn't care less what kind of CD-R you have in the drive...whatever the burner can burn it, the software will allow you to burn at. You have to be sure to set the recording speed to match the media.

nero wont let you burn any faster then the cdr burn speed
