Wassup board I just wanted to make a post tellin yall that our lovely car made it back into Turbo magazine this month. Last time if you remember the magazine installed a FMIC on the project MSP so this time I guress they decided to add along the same lines and install a new CAI. Now I know what you are think...why would they do such a stupid thing being that we have already been through a number of discussions regarding this subject but actually the results that they came with we a lil different from what we have been hearin on the board. The new CAI that they installed was the new one that iON performance made (same ppl that made the FMIC.) It has hard pipes and an easy adjustment to fit the MAS in between the pipes. But the best part of it all is that the results were better than expected it actually added 5-8whp alone and if I remember right it was 16-24whp with the intercooler. They said that it really made a difference on the low in of the powerband starting at about 3500rpm and also another around I think 5500 (dont hold me to it but I know there were 2 instances). They also have like 5 dynos showin the results. So check it out! Holla!

hey man welcome to the community....also hit me on email or pm or aim im up her ein baltimore and we like to get local events together etc etc...check out our maryland section also....

back on topic...this has been known for a lil while.....the company turbo is workin with frequents this board also....plus before u get flamed...learn the search function on this board...it will save u from "search-nazi's"

TEH SAERCH NAZI IS HEAR!!!1 USE TEH SEARCH BUTTAWN OR BE PWNED!!
MUAHAHAH

j/k welcome to the board, and to last week. ;)

LOL, Jeff I wish you were a mod for this section. You seem to frequent this area a lot more than the mods do.

Here we go:rolleyes:

untill i see someone not advertising the company go on a dyno stock then with the fmic and cai then im sorry, but i don't believe it, i bet i can find a link for a grounding company claiming 12whp, does that mean you will believe it?

mp5jeff - All of our parts are dyno'd in house during the R&D process. Turbo Mag came to US. We're providing the parts on loan. And as such, their independant testing is just that - independant and unbiased.

except this isnt a grounding company. i dont understand why people rag on ion even after user reviews. even if someone privately dynos, leave it to jeff to say that it was rigged/bribed/sexual favors.

get a life.

and you just got owned by ion.

jonnydoe48- just curious why you follow me around and try to talk s***, didnt i already tell you to send a pm if you have a problem which never happend because you are a pussy, and i was not ragging on anyone, i just said i don't believe s*** i read in magazines, but you are probably one of those "magazine" racers and was offended.

iON Performance- out of curiousity how much were the a/f ratios changed after installation of the fmic and cai?

mp5jeff - we'd posted the dyno run along with the corresponding A/F curves for the FMIC install as well as the CAI install. For the CAI install, the baseline runs were those of the car w/ the FMIC kit installed alone. Hence the baseline A/F's would have already shown a shift.

After each part was installed, the A/F curve was shifted to the right, allowing for more of the curve to be leaner then the stock A/F's. Note this was all @ stock boost levels.

iON Performance- btw when i said i don't believe what i read in the magazines was not directed at you but was a generalization. Ive seen some total b.s. stories and thats why.

mp5jeff - some gains are partially made by changing the A/F curve. This however is not the sole case. The initial A/F curve after installation of a part will not change until it's ran over time.

Thus, b/c there's so much more air that can actually get through to the motor, the very first dyno run shows the largest absolute gain.

Overtime the stock computer realizes it sees more air, but b/c of the specific map, it doesn't throw more fuel (as it's overly rich) and thus shifts the A/F curve, yielding yet another gain.

The FMIC itself is used as a device to fight heat soak. The CAI is to prepare the motor for higher boost.

Back to the subject...

The MSP is in Turbo Mag.

The IC and CAI by Ion made a difference in performance...
