MSP in comparison to a 2004 Toyota Celica Sport

I hope you guys are right and not just being MSP biased, but I love biased opinions if I like them haha :)

And thanks for all the replies, really nice when you get your post answered really quick :)

MSP better for sure, but it's all driver when you have 2 cars that have similar power. You said your buddy can't drive stick yet, challenge him to a race from a stop and you will **** him!(upbum)

lol racing beginner stick drivers is teh funzorz! you will OwN him if you have any clue as to what you're doing you'll be like (hah) (blowjob)

MSP>Celica

Stock performance wise. Whether it be a road race, auto X, in any stock competitive motorsport test of performance. Its not bias its fact.

Basically, everywhere I looked the Celica GT-S and RSX-S beat the MSP in the quarter by a couple tenths. This makes sense because of the power to weight ratios. Sure, the MSP is light at 2800 and change, but the Celica is an even 2500lb with 180hp. The RSX-S is 2778 and has 200hp (and a smoother powerband to boot). Not ragging on the MSP (I love mine to death), but facts are facts. Comparing times and stats from the same sources show consistantly better straight-line performance from the RSX and Celica. Now, take those same three cars into the twisties and that's a different story. MSP dominates with superior chassis dynamics and better factory suspension.

If the GT-S driver knows what he's doing, my money's on him... Yamaha did a good job with those heads. If the driver can stay in his powerband, look out! I think they're awkward looking cars and stock their handling isn't quite up to ours, but it doesn't take much.

i know our car is faster than a celica. A friend of mine has one with way more mods than me and he can drive as good if not better. We're both good drivers and i beat him on the track and the street, and i've pulled the same exact times he has on his car at the track. So it was no driving error that my car beat his. I can't say this car is faster than an RSX type S because i've seen them beat the MSP first hand without mods on either car. But that could have been driver error, i've never driven a type-S just a regular RSX.

Save for FI, mods (bolt-ons) probably won't do much for a Celica. They're already putting 100hp/l out. I'd be suprised if I/H/E plus cams and VVTi tuning added 30hp. I think they could pull off some good times if someone could really work that "Where's Waldo" powerband.

Screw all the magazine racing in here. Go race your cousin tell him to put up or shut up. The end result will put an end to this mess. No more my dick is bigger than yours bulls***. One will shut up and go home, one will continue boasting.

^ HAHA ... I'm not gonna race him, cuz well I know i'd win, I just wanted to know about car comparisons in looks and performance, and now I know that I made the right choice. I mean of all cars to ******* buy a CELICA? (mind you I had an 86 celica at one point before it was even consider a chick car) damn for the money he spent a nice used WRX would of been a hella of a lot better or maybe even a Corolla!

Speaking of corollas have you guys of heard of the new one with 170HP or something???

Yeah, they dropped the GTS engine in the Corolla from what i have heard.
Too bad the car still looks like ass IMHO.

Ha, the XRS is a sad attempt at a sport compact. Again, all the power is up top. Like you said; a used WRX would be WAY better than a new Celica. 11.5:1 CR are no fun to boost later on.

for all of you that said a stock gts is faster straight line

the GTS is NOT faster than MSP straight line. go to any car magazine that tested the 2. ALL of them have the MSP faster 0-60 and quarter mile!!! Every single one. Car/driver, autoweek, sport compact car, automobile magazine, there is not one magazine out there that tested these cars with a radar and found the gts faster...also if you say the gts is faster, you are saying the carolla is probably faster too...same engine. one thing to note though is that Toyota lowered the redline from 8300rpm to 7600rpm after the first production year, so the first year GTS is probably a bit faster, but still all the magazines have it slower than the MSP that they tested.
