MSP Help! Rough idle and loss of power

Can you only relocate with hard pipes or can you use the other ones and use clamps ? What do you plug that air reader thing that goes into the cia?

well my pipes come in next week for my hot and cold pipes from corksport because my stock cold pipe had a quarter size hole in it up top by the throttle bottle. It was right where the two hoses screw into the holder thing off of the stock plastic pipe. so air was rushing out big time under acceleration. Ill let everyone know for sure if it works when the hot/cold pipe come in and i am also going to re-locate the maf to the cold pipe instead of on my cai.

what im buying for now because i dont want to buy a whole fmic. http://www.corksport.com/corksport-mazdaspeed-protege-intercooler-hose-kit.html

Similar problem here, been going on for over a year. STILL looking for a real fix.
Under easy-driving, the car runs fine. 3/4 throttle or better and it spits, sputters & stumbles (misfires?) anywhere from 3k-6k. I've had major misfiring due to shot plug wire that put it into total limp mode & it's a very similar feeling just lesser in degree and intermittent. Sometimes it clears up and the car starts to pull normal, other times I just have to let off the gas to get it to smooth out.
I've replaced plugs & wires 6 or 7 times in the past 2 yeas – it never eliminates the problem, but it happens less frequently and with less intensity for about a week after each replacement, then back to normal.
This is with:
• AFC2 using stock supermap
• hard intercooler pipes w/ stock SMIC
• stock boost (I ran this car for 3 years at 10psi with no issues before this all started – stock boost since)
• boost gauge shows normal vac/boost readings
• stock intake
• catless w/ corksport j-pipe + midpipe to stock cat-back
• I've used iridium stock range plugs, copper 1-range colder NGKs & the denso ik22's and all reacted the same
• magnecor plug wires–but I've yet to find a coil-boot that doesn't suck ass! I've ripped the top off and left the boot in the cylinder at least 4 times.

I've got a new WGA to install & I'm going to check the manifold gasket tonight as recommended.
A - any ideas?
B - omgwtfbbq coil boots?! is there an option I've missed that isn't cobbled together from recycled bat dung by underage, migrant workers in a malay sweatshop.

(erm, if either of those q's were for me...)

@pbarton14 - I'm the original owner, bought it at launch. 138k-ish. I got the flash when it was first made available (should have mentioned that, perhaps)
@Cleverfrog - .032 right now. (duh)

wow and you still havent found the source of the problem? this is starting to sound more and more like the ecu is just turning to s*** or something, putting too uch fuel and making it too rich of a mixture thus leading to the bogging down feeling

@pbarton14 - the problem didn't start until probably 110k-ish, so it's been a long time, just not the ENTIRE time.
ECU death = common? that's one I've not heard on here before. Something to look into.

this problem is happening to many msp's lately so the only thing i can think is something that involves the tune and closed loop

No CELs? Did the SSAFC help when you installed it? I would try re-loading the map to the AFC.

ecu seems to be the right angle here. i have tried everything it seems and still have crazy hesitation and no power in boost. my car was awesome when i first got it with around 90,000 km not it has 120,000 ish. maybe the ecu does s*** the bed after 100,000 who knows. im tired of loving the look, breaking, and cornering of a turbo car that is slower then a plain jane mazda 323...

There is something wrong with your car, mine runs like a 200hp FWD car should. If the ECU went bad, the car wouldn't run at all.

no hes saying that something is going wrong with the tune on the stock ecu just like my msp, ive heard that these ecu's tend to learn to what mods you have and sometimes dont adjust themselves corretly, thus leading to a fuel mixture that is too rich. thiink about it, why would this hesitation under boost gradually get worse and worse? im thinking that if it were a sensor it would throw an engine light, . im also surprised that no one has found a found a solution to this, its basically who has the most spending money lol

I fixed the hesitation I experienced for over a year in my car. Upgrade the mid pipe, upgrade the intercooler, piping and BPV, and get a piggyback ECU. b6gtxawd has an SSAFC I believe.

Trust me I work part time and go to school there is NO way you have less mod money than I do.

False.
I'm married.
(sadly, only 1/2 jk)

well i personally have catless corksport exhaust and ssafc with the superstock map , ebay fmic, ebay blow off valve vta,. the day i installed the ssafc i really noticed a difference and i loved it

I've had misfire CEL's before due to faulty coils/wires, but nothing* currently.
* for clarity: I always have a CEL due to no 2nday O2 sensor (working on that...), but I had it scanned at autozone to confirm no additional

edit: reloading the map suggestion = will try.
