MSP getting some more upgrades!!!

Well, it looks like this weeks project is going to be pushed back to next week. I am fixing up an old house as an investment while I go to school, and I will be working in the yard through the weekend. It's not even close to finished, but so far I have turned this:

Into this:

I am getting sod on Friday, and it will really look nice then. I also need to finish the waterfall, and pound the sod edging into the ground. 3 days of work has really transformed my yard though, I removed 3 dead trees, 2 dead bushes, made the pond, and planted about 90 plants. The pond is 1500 gallons, and the waterfall flows at 1400gph (sounds amazing). Livestock is: 10 koi, 10 goldfish, 10 bullfrog tadpoles, and 20 gambuzia (mosquito eaters). Pond plants are: 3 iris, 2 lillies, 2 parrots feather, 2 pickeral rush, 1 arrowhead, 1 cattail, 1 umbrella palm, 1 water celery, 1 lotus, 1 water grass, and several floaters (hyacinth, lettuce, duckweed, and fairy moss). The border is 60 ground cover plants... I normally use rocks for my border, but I wanted to try something different with this one.

So I'll be putting the msp project on hold for a week or so to finish this up, I'll let you all know when I get started.

Well the upgrades have begun.(rockon) Dual stage MBC went in today, and we are getting started on the mpi tuner install tonight. We will hopefully be done tomorrow afternoon and I can finally start tuning this thing. Injectors won't go in till tuesday at the earliest though, more likely friday. I will post pics of everything next weekend when I am back on the cable modem.

So far so good. Front motor mount is in, and we began wiring up the mpi tuner and boost module. I ran into a small snag when I put the software on the laptop, but MPNick came to the rescue within 10 minutes with the file I needed to unlock the program. Great customer service with MPI at this point, and Nick has said several times that he would help me through the setup. Hopefully everything else will go this smoothly.

Here are some pics that I took earlier today of the dual stage MBC, and the parts that are going in this week:

Forgot to mention that it was 11pm eastern time where Nick is, and a saturday night. Great customer service is an understatement.:)

Let me just restate everyone elses comments about the rear motor mount. "Glad I don't have to do that again", lol. What a PITA that wiring harness is. That bottom bolt was not designed to come off with the motor in, haha. And to top it all off, after we finally had the new one in, the motor had shifted about 1/2 an inch to the drivers side so we had to lift the motor from 3 different points and loosen all of the other mounts to get all of the bolts back in. All in all it took about 6 hours for the rear mount alone. Did I mention that the wiring harness can kiss my arse? lol. Vibration is quite noticeable, but not unbearable unless right at 1500rpm. I dig the way it sounds at startup now, and overall it seems a bit louder. Response is enhanced, and wheel hop is eliminated. Good stuff AWR!:)

I am still having trouble getting the mpi tuner software up and running, but it is my fault. I forgot to bring a floppy drive with me and I need one to unlock the software with the security file. I have to make a trip back down to school tomorrow and go get it, so I can't finish up the mpi install till tomorrow night.:( I'll post tomorrow night and let you all know how it goes.

Haha, thanks guys. Check out that post again though, I have a bunch of fish in there.:) I am about to leave to go check on everything down there, and get my A drive for the other laptop.

Can't Nick send you you unlock code via email???? I have my on the hard drive, I don't know if he is sending out the "unlock all" to every customer, so I don't know if mine will work for ya. Give him a call.

I did, and he sent it to me. The software wants to see the security file in Drive A, and my laptop wont allow me to do that. He is going to resend the mpi software and hopefully that will work. We are on hold for now though.(argh)

If you copy the "unlock key" to the directory where the MPI is, Like where the maps are, then it will not ask for the key because it see's it already. Mine is in C:\Program Files\MPI_TUNER If you just put it in that directory, or wherever you have it, it will work without prompting. When I loaded mine and did not have the floppy, I put it there, becasue that's where it copies it to, and a box poped up asking if I want to use that file as the key. Sorry I didn't think to tell you that in the last message.(thumb)

That's what I have been trying to do all day. Nick just tried the file he sent me on his computer, and it locked him out too. He is getting me a working key right now. Looks like another late night.

Nope, no go for tonight. I don't know exactly what's up, but the program I got is the newer one, and the spawn file is the older one. Nick is going to get me squared away tomorrow AM.

Yes!!! I am in!:) We are going to finish the wiring of the mpi tuner and turbo module now. I am so stoked! The software looks great, and I am starting to realize the possibilities with this unit. The injectors got pushed back to next week, but that will give me some extra time to get familiar with the software at stock boost levels so I don't make any really bad mistakes. Nick was extremely helpful with my problems. I just needed to install the older software to get in with the key I have, and then update to the newer software after I was in. Glad it's running.:)

I'll post late tonight after startup goes down.:D

Autobox- Talk to Nick about current pricing, he can give you the real total. I can't remember what it all came to, but it was less than a grand.:)

Forgot to mention, I forgot to fully tighten one of the clamps on my dual stage setup, and popped the wastegate source on the high controller.:( I spiked up to 17.4 psi according to the tattle tell on my TT:O. I saw the warning light go off, heard a few pings, fuel cut, and let off the gas, all in less than a second... lol, it was like slow motion once I saw the warning. All this with no fcd, so please be careful when modding the boost folks. If I hadn't let off so quickly, it could have been a bad situation.

It's going good guys, but I'm starting to feel like I am talking to myself here, lol. Dave's wiring on this would confuse a mazda tech, lol, it is really awesome what we came up with here. I'll post pics soon, but all I have to say is Dave does some amazing wiring. We came up with some good spots to mount the tuner and boost module, which is all I feel the instructions lacked. This thing is looking awesome so far!:)
