msp engine mounts?

does the msp have different engine mounts than the normal protege? Since they are running with boost I assume the already paltry engine mounts we are given would be too crappy for em.

well then maybe I should change the question...are there any replacements for the side motor mounts? AWR only has front and rear

Exact same.

Nope...the front engine mount (#3 mount I believe, the mount between the timing belt) is different...It is still rubber and looks almost identical to the standard 2.0L pro's mount...It is immensely stiffer despite still being rubber, and is an excellent upgrade for any stock 2.0L...I will post the part number in a bit...From what I remember the only difference you can tell when you pick it up is the different "dot" on the bracket...The MSP mount has a blue dot I think, and the standard FS 2.0L mount has a white dot...Also you have to purchase the mount and the mount bracket as one piece, which means expect to pay about $140 for a new one through the dealership which kind of sucks...but if you need a brand new OE mount anyway, its the same price as the standard one...

The part number for the Mazdaspeed #3 mount is BP7H-39-06Y and it has a blue dot rather than a white dot.

It does help, even though I was one to post that it wasn't any different, but it is. Here are two threads where I was nay-saying.

I also highly recommend doing the window-weld thing. Work very well, but it takes a long ass time to cure (two weeks even when I did it in layers).

Depending upon interest. I could have the #3 mount digitized and make an aluinum insert to fit it. That would certainly stiffen it up. That or I can start a swap program with window-weld filled #3. Not sure if it is worth the time. What is it worth to people? (I think the aluminum insert would be great. Basically just to plug the holes that are in there. . .the rubber would still keep the vibration to a minimum, but when you hit the gas, the mount would have any "play" like it does now. . .heck you can rock the engine easily by hand.)

So, what do peole think? Do it?

start making them bevis, i just put my rear awr in this weekend. I cant take the vibration, if it doesnt go away with in the next few weeks i will winow weld the stock one and put it back in. i think the rear mount is the most important mount, with my rear awr the engine lash is completely gone.

this is what they look like

the stock one has a white dot and as you can see the MSP one has a blue dot

I just installed the blue dot one this weekend. Does not seem to make much difference as far a driveline back lash but does seem to improve shift feel.

I will see what happens.

Yeah I just installed one too...My stock #3 mount was completely gone...So I can't really compare it to the stock #3 mount in good condition...Mine feels much better than it did before, but again the mount was nearly destroyed...

And like you mentioned A223818, didn't help wheel hop much, but does a much better job with shifting and throttle lift turning...
