I'm just starting out in Autocross, and trying to classify my car. I thought that I was fine in DSP with the modifications I've done, but I just remembered that when installing the Injen CAI I had to move the location of the coolant tank. Does this fall into the 15.1.B

"...Any modification not specifically authorized by the Stock Category or Street Prepared rules is prohibited. No unauthorized modifications are permitted in order to accommodate authorized modifications...."

and therefor force me to run in SM?

Other Mods:
Autometer Boost Gage
innovative Wideband O2 Sensor/Gage
Apexi Catless Downpipe & Exhaust
Splitsecond AFC
Turbosmart MBC
Turbosmart BPV

You should be fine. I think everyone has the same issue with the CAI. I think I just had to rotate the reservior mount to get it out of the way for the CAI to get to the fender.

Check this out, it's an option

If it wasn't for running the catless down pipe you would be running in STX (edit: nevermind, missed the MBC piece which definitely puts you in DSP). Moving the coolant tank is fine, because it is still there. I think you are even allowed to replace the coolant tank in stock class as long as it doesn't "materially" decrease the weight of the car.

Crap, I just realized something, your bypass valve puts you in street mod.

"From Street Prepared Rules"
d) No changes are permitted to blow-off/pop-off valves.
e) Compressor bypass valves (CBVs) may be updated/backdated
independently of the other components of a forced
induction system.

I think this means no recirc or blow off valve may be modified. Search through the Auto-X rules thread, because I think this has been touched upon.

No the BPV is fine, section 12.14

Compressor Bypass Valve
"A device intended to allow a supercharger or turbocharger's compressor output to recirculate back to the supercharger or turbocharger inlet when the throttle plate is closed. The purpose of this recirculation is to reduce boost lag when the throttle plate is reopened. ... CBVs installed by OEMs operate as described above. Some aftermarket CBVs vent to the atmosphere, and are marketed as Blow Off Valves or Pop Off Valves, although their operation is otherwise identical to the OEM CBVs."

This describes exactly what the BPV does in the MSP, and therefor is a legal change is Street Prepaired.

I just got an e-mail back from Doug Gill

"Well, thats an awkward situation. I do not think moving the coolant reservoir tank is allowed. The Stock category allows you to add a coolant tank, but it doesnt allow moving the standard tank.

So I think youre correct it is not allowed to move the tank in Street Prepared.

Sorry but I dont really have another solution. You could be upfront with your competitors and let them know that youve moved the tank. Usually, people are OK with it if youre not trying to get away with something.

So that answers that, I guess I'll be running in SM.
Now just need to find another 5-10k, to build the car... :(

i'd run in dsp. unless your either very competetive or running nationals, no one would ever question repositioning the coolant tank.
we all know turning the coolant tank 90 deg. drops 2 sec. right there...

2 seconds? Closer to 3, and if you add the extra 50 whp I'll get when I paint the racing stripe on I'll be unstoppable. ;)

Section12.14 is a definition not an allowance. What you are looking for is the updated listing of what livelyjay posted.

15.10e) Compressor bypass valves (CBVs) are considered part of
the air intake system, and may be replaced or updated/
backdated independently of the other components of a
forced induction system.

(bolding mine)

As for the coolant tank, I think you are thinking about this too hard. The intake doesnt have to go there. Just route it elsewhere other than that and have the resevoir in the correct orientation. So what if the intake feeds from the inside of the engine bay, youll lose, what... a whole 2hp? Theres bigger fish to fry than this, trust me.

EDIT: syntax
