MSP Conversion Kit

I read in a few places that Mazda Speed Parts were only available from the factory and couldn't be ordered for a car that didn't come with them origionaly. However, I was talking to the local dealer last night and they mentioned that they could order a conversion kit. Has anyone heard anything about this and can they be used on the p5.

From what I have read the turbo and limit slip will not be sold. Only body and suspension peices can be ordered.

Yeah you cant get the turbo and manifold and if you could be ready to fork over about a grand for the log manifold and probably 1200 for the turbo........not worth it at all

That would be a non-profit solution for Mazda. That would be like Mazda not selling the body kit for the MP3 or the anti-sway bars, or the rims, or the strut tower bars, ect. You get my point. Thsi would a :bs: move by Mazda so I am saying :wtf:

They are smart enough not to give allow there crappy dealers techs to install turbos, blow up cars left and right and have to warrenty them. They would loose money in warrenty work becuase of there terrible dealers.

Good point(drinks)

The dealer that I talked to didn't know a thing about it or the MP3.

The manifold and turbo are on a part exchange + MSP VIN deal...

The LSD is still in the air last time I checked, however it'll probably end being the same thing, exchange + VIN.

However, things might change soon depending on how well the MSP is received and if dealers can agree on the warranty issues.

yo he is right. most these dealers have no F*cking clue what they are doing. BUT that is why you would require Mazda service Techs to go for traing. B/c mazda can make a s*** load of money selling turbo kits for P5 and MP3. Nissan dealers put on super chagers on their cars and it's warrantied why can't Mazda. I think they will jst wait till a year till they sell all the MSP then sell turbo kits!!

sounds about right.

but when they sell turbos after the MSPs are all spoken for, they will be like T4s or some crap......keeping with the theme of stickin it to ppl who shelled out for limited edition proteges :)

i don't think it's a warranty issue right now, i think it is a supply issue. mazda is just starting to produce the mazdaspeed protege, and they need all the parts they can get for the production vehicles. (and it doesn't seem like they can even get enough for the production vehicles, let alone to sell as accessories through the dealers!)

that's my $0.02.

Actually you can get a LSD with a lifetime warranty on it, for our cars. It is called a Quafe (spelling). It's only 1200.00 dollars

where can one be purchased?

You have to give them your SSN to even look at their inventory, what kind of bulls*** is that!

You can buy the Quiafe unit from Mazdamotorsports.com.

I only want the Limited Slip from the MSP. I'd buy an aftermarket Turbo Kit

i think someone said limited edition thats a freakin joke. thats what they said about the mp3 now there is a msp. looking at the two the only diference is the paint and rims for somone who does not now anything it all looks the same. its all a bunch of bs

dude, you just described the 8 or 20 'limited edition' miata's that have been sold over the past 10+ years. it is nothing even close to new for mazda to do this with thier vehicles.
