Hey guys, I'm new on here and their is a lot of good info on the forum, but I'm having trouble finding definitive answers to some fairly simple questions.
I recently purchased a Speed3 and I'm seriously interested in the Mazdaspeed CAI and Mazdaspeed Cat-Back, because it will not void the warranty and I can simply finance them both under my monthly payment. This is my first "new" car and will be the first car I have done "modifications' to.
My questions:
Do these simple bolt-on mods require engine management (such as the CP-E Standback or upcoming Cobb AccessPort) to run properly and preserve the reliability and longevity of the engine, or will a ECU reset/reflash after the installation of those two parts be sufficient? If a reset/reflash is sufficient, does that have to be done at the dealership or can I do it myself somehow?
Also, does anyone have a dyno chart or any credible HP/TQ gains with the Mazdaspeed exhaust? I've seen a good bit of info on the intake, but none on the exhaust.
Anyway, I've searched a good bit for these answers, but just can't seem to stumble across these answers. I apologize ahead of time for the noob question, but you guys have a great forum set up here that has been very informative.
Thanks!
WKC
