DONT CALL THE NUMBER 1sty said to. They will look it up and see the date. Since you told them the date that your car got broken into int he report, they will know it was you that called. Just turn it in, then later go **** his s*** up if you still feel the need to. I personally would jsut beat the s*** out of the person and jack their s*** haha. Wear a mask and gloves, halloween woulda been the perfect night, everyoen has masks on.

I agree with Hercdriver, you have no way of knowing if that phone belonged to the theif. They could have intentionally left someone else's phone to frame someone else or simply throw you/the police of their track. Whatever you do, don't go vigilante on someone's s***, especially if you have no way of knowing if you're even hitting the right person.

You are waisting valuable time right now by asking us what to do.

You should have reported this immediately...You should not have even touched the phone but instead called the cops to let them search the car for evidence and find the owner of the phone by their own means. If you don't report it before the kid calls and says his phone is missing the evidence will be thrown out in court and you will become SOL.

You already have a slim chance of convicting this kid and the fact that you made phone calls on the phone makes it even worse. The police could have used the call history to create a timeline by determining when the kid last used the phone but now that you have obviously used it to call numbers the theif would have called, he could say you have been using it for the past week which would place his stolen phone anywhere on the timeline and nowhere around the time your friend's car was broken into.
