MSP begi fmic?

so far so good ken, i just got back from outback and its pretty cold tonight. The car pulls so nicely in all gears. the intercooler is definetly doing it job. hopefully begi can send out the coupler so i can hook up the begi pipes instead of using the stock pipes.

First post, third image he labeled a bracket saying "I don't know where the hell this thing goes". That is the hood latch replacement support bracket. The original bracket needs to be replaced so the hot side pipe can clear the bracket, if I remember right.

From the Begi directions...
I don't think my kit came with that. I can't really tell what it looks like from the pic though. I didn't have any intructions when I got mine either. Can someone please show a pic of this piece installed or separate. With my motor mounts, the hood latch vibrates enough for it to ratlle around whenever I idle.

sandspeed, i'll buy that ununsed bracket from you if you're not going to use it.

i think i am going to have a shop near me bend it and if that doesn't work out i guess i will wait for the begi to send me another one.

sorry guys, no pics yet. i promise i will take some tomorrow morning because i need to clean the engine bay first. (thumb)

I meant the hood latch support replacement, not the radiator bracket.

new pics

i got off work early and took a couple pics near my house. I still have to fix the 03.5 lip and repaint it black. a couple friends said they dont like the look of the begi but i dont really give a s***. i think is fills in the lower grill nicely and isn't over the top. I plan on keeping my stock turbo so the begi should be great for my 200hp goal this year. Overall, i am very happy with this kit, the car drives a whole lot better (thumb) Next install is the dsm afc this weekend along with front and rear motor mounts. Not long after that is the ghl downpipe , 440 fuel injectors and than my car is getting dyno tuned at 9 or 10 psi. do guys think i will be around 200 or under?
later

lookin good! I like your rims, when i have the extra money laying around i'm gonna get my RH painted professionally bronze or gold, ihave the hook up on that.

You'll have wayy more then 200WHP with the upgrades you'll be getting. I already have the full ghl dp and its great. The AFC will indeed help a lot. Have any pics of your CS exhaust??

After months of a ghetto rigged up bpv I finally was able to get the right parts.
engin.jpg

I ordered a forge diverter valve but its on backorder so it wont be here for a while. I also finally hooked up my cold side intercooler piping the other night. I went for a cruise and one of the pipes blew off while i was hitting 2nd gear.

Luckly, I wasn't very far from my apt so i was able to push her back to the parking lot.
I fixed the coupler this morning and made sure it was real tight. I drove around the block a couple times and so far so good.
I also took of the 03.5 lip and put my foglights back on. I wish I had a carport because the sun owned me..(ughdance)

It looks nice.
The BEGI looks good and I am glad that everything worked out.
If i was you I would have kicked their asses since the product should be done properly right away and you should not have the problem that you had.
Good job

Believe me, he tried to get people to comply with the right parts, it just took a while and alot of trips back and forth for bad couplers.

i know.
it is begi's fault.
i am glad is over.

just got back from a long drive and the car runs so much smoother and pulls up to redline great.
i still never got the radiator support bracket that was supposed to come directly from begi. ken , if you read this please let me know what happened. I will post some more pics once i install the forge bpv.
Oh yea, the next performance mod is a ported out intake manifold (without butterflies) i bought off cwill but first thing I will do is tune the car.

what did you do to make sure that you will not blow the pipes off again?
It seem that this is a common problem with aftermarket kits.
Do you have a DSM?
Good luck

Basically i screwed that up because the intercooler pipe was not properly secured in to the coupler. So i took out the section of piping and resecured the coupler and put it back the right way.
Yea, aftermarket can be a pain in the ass! I am grateful for local tuners and good friends for the help.
I do in fact have the dsm afc but unfortunatly haven't had time to get my car tuned, I plan on doing that soon.
