So, my good friend that I work with here at Mazda is buying a MSM, but the only thing holding her back is her being uncomfortable having to drive it in the snow on occasion. I told her that she would be able to get by using 4 snow tires, but she wants to hear it from someone else too!! Anyone out there using their MSM during the winter? Please let me know! thanks!!

She will be fine, a friend of mine has been driving his here for the past 2 months, kinda slippery at first, but when you get BLIZZACKS or whatever they're called snow tires, it definitelly keep you from sliding. Tell her to get a set of those, she'll feel much safer.

Not a MS, but my Miata is great in the snow, with a set of 4 Michelin Arctic Alpins. If she drives smart, the snow tires will get her by until the snow gets pretty deep. At that point, she'll still go, but she'll be plowing!

Mostly, I just have to remember that nothing happens immediately in the snow. Brake early, turn at lower speeds, start up in 2nd gear, no sudden moves. Driving a Miata in snow takes some skill and concentration, but it's a lot of fun, and the car is so neutral that it's pretty easy to recover in a slow slide or spin.
