MS3 winter wheel options - help

I am a new 2008 MS3 touring owner, living in Boston...so winter is a reality I must face with this car. Do other Mazda wheels fit our vehicles? Like 16-17" stock Mazda3 wheels, or Mazda6 wheels, etc? Tire Rack shows that 16's will fit, so I know the size isn't an issue -- but of course offset has to be considered as well.

Any help is appreciated on this as I'd really rather not run 18's all winter if I can get some more sidewall under me this winter. Some of these potholes look like moon craters by the time February hits!

I have 17" steel rims listed for the regular Mazda3 (they have the correct offset) with 215/50-17 Toyo Observe Garit KX. They are good. After two winters and 15k miles on them, they look new.

The tire shop gave me the Mazdaspeed6 17" steel rims to begin. The offset was 5mm wrong and I had rubbing issues in the back.
