i had my shop give me a cost of doing a turbo lsvtec swap for around 8500. thats the way to go if u ask me
maybe if you have the skills, it wouldn't be as hard
what would be needed for this?
i'm guessing:
-5 Lug front rotor swap (if you have lx you could use the 4 lug)
(i dunnot if to fit the 4 lug rotor it must be custom fab as i recall hodas don't use Mcpherson Struts)
-Welding new motor mounts, shouldn't be hard...in fact, must be the easiet thing on the swap.
Using an VTEC engine (i'm lost here... LSVTEC? whatever) together with tranny.
Maybe extending or cutting the CV-Joints to reach from tranny to rotors.
If using haltech, forget about WIRING HARNESS or anything, stand alone all the way shall do the trick allowing you to keep the original harness and ECU for the rest of the car.
Custom full hader-back exhaust...shouldn't be a problem
if i'm not mistaken, the honda tranny uses cables to shift, just like the mitsubishi eclipse tranny, so it shouldn't be as hard to get to work.
clutch lines and such can be easily rerouted and spliced together.
maybe controlling VTEC would be hard..or perhaps theres an EMS that does this? splicing a honda ECU is out of the question.
I think 8500 is about right for this swap
but if you do it yorself, like prepping the engine and having the shop just mount it and that's it should be rather inexpensive..maybe 2 to 3 thousand?
kinda cool turboing that motor too...
oh gosh...can we dream?
