MS3 parts AEM, TURBOXS

I see lots of guys on here rockin the CP-E and the MazdaSpeed CAI, does anyone have the AEM CAI on the MS3?

Also, I see that TurboXS makes a full turboback for the MS3..but I don't really see anyone running it

????

There are a lot of options for the CAI,

There are Fujita, Injen (both are basically the same heh), CP-E, Mazdaspeed, and COBB has their SRI out too.

There are some things you should consider when buying an intake. Specifically, the size of the MAF housing on the new intake, it should be as close to stock as possible. I know the MS is not, and I'm guessing that since the Fujita and Injen are 3" OD, they're also not the same as stock. I know that CP-E specially engineered their part to be the same size as stock, to keep fuel trims as close to the stock range as possible. I'm not sure what size COBB's MAF housing is.

And the Turboback from TXS? I know I'm new on "these" forums but I've been at the other forums for a while. I had one of the first TXS Cat Backs in the country. Sounded great. The problem with TXS is, they just don't seem to care about the mazdaspeed community. I don't mean they're not handing out hugs and helping us whenever we need it...I mean they just don't seem to care.

A few examples, Many people have leaks with their race pipe, TXS didn't bother to look into the problem and see what it was, they just said they're fine. Many times you can call their shop and it just keeps ringing. Leave a message, never get a call back. When a buddy of mine asked TXS why their race pipe was leaking, they blamed it on the Mazda motormounts lol. All in all, TXS has a good following and reputation in the WRX community...but they have yet to impress me in the mazdaspeed3 community. There are other turbo back options out there, I don't know what considerations you have for purchasing one, but look into all of the options that you have out there (Corksport/CPE) for the downpipe, and many other cat back options.

OK i'm sure i've worn my welcome. :)

so do people have issues with the AEM CAI? AEM (DC Sports) also makes a Mazdaspeed 3 catback system I havent really heard much about either.

I took a look at the CP-E website and quite frankly their stuff looks kind of junky (yet expensive).

The mazdaspeed CAI is the same inner diameter as stock at 2.625", but it does not have a flow straightener. Considering the size and design of the straightener I don't see how it can have a huge impact, but it does seem to help a little with MAF readings. With that said, I would get the cobb SRI if you plan on going the cobb tuning route or want a SRI, or go with CPE CAI. Cobbs is the same diameter and has a flow straightener, just like stock and CPEs.
