MS3 Paint Problem

I am the original owner of an '09 Black MS3. After waxing the car I noticed that the there is a spot about 6" in diameter behind the passenger side window where the paint is not the same color. I can only see it under certain light but it is appears to be much greyer than the black paint. Their is no noticable differences in the clear coat over the area. Has anyone else experienced this? Is the paint covered under the warranty?

I've heard that the factory paint on these cars is crappy. I believe it. I've got a few spots on my '09 CWP that are questionable.

The factory paint is crappy, take it back to the dealership, and yes it is covered under warranty. Do not let them bulls*** you on this item, that it is a wear item. Especially if the car is well maintained.

maybe it just needs to be buffed? if it doesn't bother you I wouldn't worry to much about it, cuz if they repaint chances are the rest of the area will NOT match up...especially if it's pearl based. just my 2 cents

I agree, take it to the dealership if it bothers you enough. I personally wouldn't unless it was very noticeable because I had the service department at my local dealership.

But yes, the paint is crappy IMO.

yes, the paint on these cars from factory is s***. I had my 08 for just over a year, sold it with 32k miles, and the front had some gnarly chips. Also, essentially, everything from the door handles-down was not nearly as glossy as the rest. And the car had a clean carfax. Just crappy paint. I do auto detailing on the side, so I work with all kinds of paint, and the mazda has proved one of the worst. The paint on my nine year old S4 is better(granted the car is immaculate). Lol
